I am hoping I can come. My brother and sister-in-laws all gets together once a year for a mini vacation, no kids. This year we are trying for April 19-22. I still have to wait for other family members to confirm if we are doing it this date. Sorry I can't be more specific, keep your finger crossed for me and if I can make it....I "call" the back of the bus.lol

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Mibus2 +1 are comin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bus driver and her mechanic LOL

cocoa_lulu if you are in the back of the bus you can be sure I WILL.... IF I am driving make sure to hit any and all pot holes to bounce ya out of your seat LOL. (just jokin' bronc I would not do anything to cause any damage to something that isn't mine.)

Weeeeeee, lol

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey! who else is coming? this is going to be really neat.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I would really like to come, but no promises. I have a meeting in Houston the 17th and 18th. It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I have a few leads that have not posted yet

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Oh come on Blue_eyes You can make it LOL....
you'll have the highway all the way up and ya know they don't waste time speed wise there LOL..Huston is only 3 hours from Tyler so if you do more of a straight line from Huston to Dallas it's probably shorter ...LOL....sounds good right???

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Kim, I have a bed you can use if you want to come up this far the night before. Would love to have you.

Just popping in to say you guys really know how to do a RU! Bus tours, nurseries, gardens, eating, meeting, swapping, etc. I am very impressed and wish I could attend! I think it's no coincidence that the idea for the national get-together came from your forum and why I think it will eventually happen. Your party sounds like the perfect 'in-between' step from regular RU's to something on a national scale. Texas is bigger than many nations anyway!

Good luck, have fun and take lots of photos. I look forward to seeing the thread. (Hope all of you get through the nasty weather okay too)

Regards,
Victor

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Victor! If there's any way you can attend, you're more than welcome!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you - wish I could!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow! someone recognizes our organizational skills!!!
Thank you so much Victor.
Josephine.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You're quite welcome!

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Sheila for the offer. The meeting in Houston is a scientific meeting that my lab attends every year. For some reason we always drive there both days, starting very early in the morning. After listening to talks all that time I am usually pretty exhausted. Perhaps I can convince someone to share a room with me there this year, and then I would be more rested for the next day.

Dallas, TX

OK why dont I know anything about this? MITCH! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T DMAIL ME! Put me down!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Sylvia - sorry we have been posting it a lot of places and I just thought you knew. Will you please come?

Dallas, TX

you know I will.... you guys are worse than the guys I use to hang out with i(in my younger days of course)n the local neighborhood taverns ... always got something going on..lol

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

So Sylvia when is this pond digging party I am coming to?

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

lets keep talking to more people to see if they are coming.

Dallas, TX

Mitch you and Patti will have to wait until I get some money. I made up my mind that I want something tall.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

mm well gee Mitch if ya are into diggin I can give ya some to do ...LOL...I was outside today workin on the bamboo roots that are still out there from the backhoe...there are still quite a few to get the rest of the way out and it will be pay day before I can think of renting a tiller to use on it....ROFL...(I am just teasin y'all as I know it is quite a distance from me to y'all ) but had to say something to keep this bumped up

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

lol - bamboo roots are one of the biggest pains in the world.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

yeah welcome to my world LOL and to think it is where I want to put my veggies

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I think it is probably as bad as Nandina, they don't call it heavenly bamboo for nothing.

Mibus, Would something like a big sieve work? Do you know what I'm talking about, they look like wooded A-frames and have a hardware cloth shelf that you shake...I've seen them used for sifting compost, but I think it would make quick work of removing roots. Something to think about, if you haven't already.
