We came from here:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/803357/#new
The deadline is Feb 1 for seeds to be into me, and I will mail them back 2 weeks later, on Valentine's Day. There is a 100 pack limit on seeds going back to you, so if a 1 for 1 trade is important to you, send 100 packs or fewer. All participants should tell me how many packs they sent and how many packs they want back.
Limit quantities to 5 of a kind
Herbs ok, but No Veggies, No Shrubs or Trees. (for the general swap, it's ok to send these if you can find a person who wants them)
Limit the commonest seeds to 2 packs, unless you are sending them to a specific person:
COMMON SEEDS:
Morning Glories: Ipomoea purpurea
Brown Eyed Susan Rudbeckia fulgida and Rudbeckia triloba
Datura
Nicotiana sylvestris
Gaillardia
Liatris
Cleome
Four O Clock's (except Broken Colors, Kaleidoscope, etc.)
(If you want any of those listed above, please let me know!)
*2006 seeds:
No Delphinium
No Larkspur
Some seeds are premium seeds because they are rarer and "worth more". As loose packs of seeds come in, I sort of separate those out and distribute them in a way that makes sense in terms of what people send in. If you send in a lot of commercial half packs, or the more premium seeds, you will get more of those back in your envie.
WISHLIST
The last wrinkle is your wishlist! When you sign up, also post 10 things you'd like to have. These can be specific (Lupine 'White Snow') or vague (anything white for part shade).
I need to know what you want before your seeds show up! I have quite a stash myself and need to start seriously culling. Tell me the kinds of things you want!!!! In a private Dmail to me (with the subject line 2nd Chance Wishlist Swap) send your list of 10 or more things you'd really like AND a list of 10 things you really don't want. LOL! It would be so helpful to me if you also added things about you and your garden, such as: I have a Moon Garden; I have too much shade; I have a cutting garden; a Cottage Garden; I like bright colors; big & bold plants; pastels; pinks and purples; I am new to seed growing; I have every seed known to man, try to surprise me. Whatever you can tell me about yourself or your garden will help me sort seeds you'll like into your envie.
Things to pack up for the swap:
1. Your seeds. added: Since I need to send back as many packs as people send in, I need some help counting the packs.. LOL! On the baggies that are tagged for certain people:
Added: I'd like the number of packs you've enclosed for that person written on the slip of paper with their name so I don't have to go rooting through to count them.
2. Return address label (or piece of paper I can tape) to use on bubble mailer you send to me.
3. I will need at least a 10 x 14" envie, or a little box, to get your seeds to you. (The PO has a 3/4 inch limit on bubble envie thickness)
4. Postage to return your mailer to you. If you have 100 packs, use postage for 13 oz. and consider sending me a little box instead of an envie. added: If you want lots of extra packs back, really, really consider that box! And pay attention to the postage amount you send me as it will cost more than what you sent in. Do not be stingy on this postage. You may use stamps or dollar bills, but no metered postage.
5. A sheet of paper with your:
1. name,
2. address,
3. email,
4. DG name,
5. Number of seed packs sent, and number of seed packs wanted back
6. Description of your garden, and yourself as a gardener and grower from seed (new, middle, experienced.)
7. 10 things you want,
8. 10 things you don't want, and
9. a list of all the loose seed packs you are sending that are not earmarked for another player. (so you don't get the same packs back)
6. Added Jan 9, 2008. Due to the sheer volume, I need to send these envelope or boxes back to you with delivery confirmations which cost an additional 75c.
7. Added Jan 11, 2008. Weezingreen's seeds came today! A big batch that cost her $26.00 to send. There are 26 people in this swap. Hmm. I am not saying send in a dollar postage to reimburse her postage costs -- but as Jiminy Cricket says, "Let your conscience be your guide."
I think I have everything, but I'm sure I'll edit this at least once, so check back to this page right before you send your seeds. LOL!
Suzy

CLOSED: Second Chance Wishlist Swap #5
Suzy, just wanted to remind you to email me so I can send you my trade seed list in Word with the links. I posted my email address in the last d-mail reply to you. Also, hope to be sending the freezer seeds in tomorrow's mail. When you get them, keep them in the freezer until you mail them out. I'll send some extra info sheets for them, as well. There will be quite a bit of meconopsis seed, some globe plant, and miscellaneous that are already listed on my tradelist.
Sorry that I you didn't hear from me earlier; I had to make an emergency trip to the hospital!
How much you chatted while I was away! I'd better stay healthy from now on......
Suzy and Dryad,
You've done such a splendid job! It looks familiar, that's how I've done it too but (of course) on a much smaller scale. To my husbands chagrin because I used all the coffeecups we have.
I've already sent my envies and will probably stay anxious until they arrive (if they do at all). Let's all keep our fingers crossed!
However, can I still ask for people to tag seeds for me? I hope so, because I would like to get:
From SEANDOR:
Chichory magdeburg
Black sesame
Papaver Laurens Grape
Catanache
and from WHEEZING:
Aquilegia Green apples
Please, please, can I? Yes, you're definately hearing an OINK OINK!
As I don't know on which thread to post, I just post on both. Just for sure......
Hi WZ,
I sent an email last night, (24 hours ago) so I'd better resend it.
The Meconopsis was on about every wish list, so it's good to know it's (they're) coming. I won't forget the freezer part. I think I have some old tater tots to throw out to make room for them. LOL!
Thanks for all the seeds, from all of us, but I imagine a few of the more brave will thank you on the thread not that they know you're at least popping in occasionally. Did you see the photos?
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=4402381
And that's before all the ziplocs had even been opened!
Suzy
Weez- You are wonderful, thank you so very much for feeding our "habit" of plant addiction/lust! It is so generous of you to share your seeds. When do you find the time to make all of your wonderful labels and get everything packaged? Thanks again, Rachel
I agree Weez, you're absolutely SUPER!!!!
Will strive to give your little babies a good home.....
Weezingreens,
Thank you for your incredible generosity!
You're like the magic seedfairy godmother. :)
Three cheers for Weez! You are super amazing! What a generous gift!

Hi Susybell,
Could you tag
Papaver rhoeas Dianes mix
Rudbeckia green eyes
for me?
Thanks so much!
Hi Tuink,
Sure. They're yours, but I'm out of edits so I can't change the post. :(
You might consider to copy/paste it into a new reply (makes your administration a little easier).....
WOW- I'm so excited I have stuff other people really want. I'm not a newbie any more!
If you requested on the list, please dmail me also. I'll go through the list but would hate to miss anyone.
FYI- I didn't think to offer it but I have all the purple native Beautyberry anyone on the entire planet could want. It's so common here, it never occurred to me to offer it. I promise there's plenty left for the birds.
I also have Vitex- native and Abbeville blue but it didn't seem so popular last trade so I didn't even list it. PLMK if you want it.
Suzy's right- I have more tithonia than just the five. I only offered it that way because of the limit.
RE: Unusual buddleia- I know someone wants Buddleia alternifolia- which I have in a 4" pot. I bought it from High Country Gardens. When it blooms, I'll save the seeds diligently as well as rooting any prunings I do. I know how hard it was to find this plant so I'll be glad to share. I'll need you to keep me in a tickler file. I'm easily distracted although well meaning- ask Suzy;-)
RE: REQUESTS- I'll be able to fill them. There were more for the white BB than I expected so I'll go over to our garden clubs native garden and get some fresh ones!
Thanks,
Maggie
Just popping in to give a little wave from the sidelines. Your enthusiasm is contageous and makes me a bit envious that I have such limited playtime right now. That Suzy sure does know how to throw a party!
I'm sorry that I didn't have time to tag individual packets for anyone, but I hope all who receive them enjoy them as much as I have.
... ....I now return you back to our regularly scheduled feeding frenzy....... ...
La, you're funny. I don't know how you managed not to get sucked into the madness.

Margaran- You have Buddleja Alternifolia!! I am the butterfly bush fanatic, but the alternate form I have not been able to find anywhere. I will make a note to dmail you in the spring, I hope it performs well for you. KD
Susybell - could I get some Browallia, and the Spinache, if there's some left?
Grampapa, if you have any more Thyme I would love some!
Wind - any more of that Shiso perilla?? I'd love to have some!!
(oink, oink....Margaran, you caught me in my feeding frenzy!!)
Tuink - you're right - rain for 4 months is about 3 1/2 too much!! And I'm very glad to hear the emergency trip wasn't more serious - but glad you went. Nosebleeds can be very problematic, even though you might not think so.
sure dryad, I got you down for the shiso....
I just updated my lists here at home in my little seed world....I just can't even imagine doing it on a large scale like Suzy!!! ...is a true test of our organization skills!
I put all my seeds for people and seeds from people in a microsoft word document which automatically numbers it too which is nice. I wanted to see where I stood. So far I have 52 pkts going out and 42 coming in :)
Problematic you bet! It was a trip to Middle Ages: they had to weld my nose (kind of)!
But then again, reading al your chatting on the various threads really lifted my spirits so I could soon forget.....
If they are from TRADE I will put a T in front, MY GARDEN an M in front, or PURCHASE P in front

Hi Suzy, working on counting everything up right now.
one......two.......three.... seeds...four.... It's going to take me a little while, but I'll let everyone know where I'm at in a bit.
The Anagallis monelli is very popular, though. I've had lots of requests.
I found some more chocolate joe pye weed in a paper bag lol If anyone would like some just dmail me, butterfly people they love it! I'll get three trades out and go from there :)
Also I have some red trumpet vine that some generous trader sent me and I won't use all of them probably could get about three trades out of those too, just dmail me :)
Lea... toss some in for me. but i can't add it my list for Suzy as everything is packed up as i'm heading for the PO for one LAST time for the week.
LOL will do tcs! I'll put both in for you :)
I have some Peony poppies available. Post here. WZ's Peony Poppy mix. "Mix of Fruity Colors"
Also,
Does anybody want to try some annual peony poppies from WZ called, 'Summer Fruits'? They are old seeds from 2001, but poppy seed is known for its long viability. I'm just not sure how long, but she keeps her seed refrigerated which will add to the viability. You'd have to throw them out (direct sow) this year. I imagine only a few people will be interested, so I can send you a larger quantity.
"A kaleidoscopic mixture of large, paeony-flowered, frilly poppies in a range of fruity colours. Very easy to grow, simply sow direct into the soil outdoors.. Plants will also self-seed readily to ensure blooms year after year. Height 24-36in (60-90cm)."

Let me know and I'll divide thepack by how many people want it. This thread is fine. Robynznest, I have you down already.
Suzy
