Silver Star Vinery
I have bought several clematis at Silver Star Vinery and just love them. I planted a Tye Dye last year and it did fine. This spring I can not find any evidence of it anywhere near where I planted it. It is just gone. Does anyone know if this is common for Tye Dye? All of my other clematis are in great shape and growing profusely. DM
recently i got my first shipment from silver star of about 10 plants. it was my first time receiving the root ball that has been already pruned....the roots were huge and so easy to plant. i really felt like the shipping method and quality were superior to any plants i have had shipped in. i was so impressed that i immediately ordered 10 more varieties, which will be planted this weekend. i consider myself relatively experienced with clematis...i started this season with 160 varieties collected and grown over 7 years. silver star is a breakthrough for me...if you haven't ordered from them i highly recommend you give it a try.
Tell us which ones you got!!!WOW 160 you must have lots of land...
i plan to post a list and tour in a week or so of the clematis.......debbie at silver star is a huge resource and i am in my first season with her. if she has it i won't be buying it anywhere else. this next week i should have 50 or 60 types blooming, although a heavy rain night before last may have shortened a couple of the plants blooms beauty. i garden on 2 acres and have several clematis gardens. i like to grow them on shrubs and thru shrubs and naturalize them a bit vs all on trellis, arch etc. but i have a lot of all kinds of supports for them as you can imagine. the clematis obsession can be a big one as my headcount reflects!!!!
Can't wait to see it...I have been sooo happy with every clematis I got from Silver Vine Nursery, plus how good Debbie is at answering all my questions..shes the best!!!as her clematis!!!
Debbies having a sale, better check it out!!!
