Kd2000 - your list is even alphabetical - cool!
Now we can all cut and paste the list and sort our seed trades out. Thanks!
Second Chance Wishlist Swap #2 - Chat & Questions
jsxtiger IS participating
Good - well, we want to make sure poor jsxtiger doesn't feel left out! Hi Jsxtiger!
If anyone wants-I made a spread sheet to put all the seeds info on & I can tape it to the packets-if you want it to organize yourself, Dmail me & title it "Spreadsheet"...It looks like I will have to buckedown tonight & do a "ansofan" list to find my "kids" homes. I also want to do a list of what peeps have req. from me-I feel like I missing some & can't figure out who....
wow - anything that would help organize me would be wonderful! lol Thanks Fairy.
>>Who is # 14-is that really their DG name??
Yes, i too was going to say Joyce is a participant.
Fairy -- sure i'll take a copy too, though i'll drop you a dmail on it too.
Seandor-I need an email address to send it to you.
It's nothing fancy, but has kept me organized and everything neat-I tried hand writing them all, but after about the 20th 1 I looked like I had too much wine!!LOL
Fairy 1004, Yes, Jsxtiger is participating, and loving it! Some may get confused by the names, some call me Joyce and some call me JAX! You may call me whatever you choose, all long as I get a couple of seeds. O.K.?
ROFL!!
Fairy1004, I just wanted to be sure I have it right. You have colosia, foxglove and wisteria tagged for me, right?
Jax
Joyce- originally #14 just said Jacksonville Florida. When the post was edited you became the new #14. So the question wasn't about your name
Yes, I have them tagged for you-BTW-HaHa-the first time I looked at the list it said Jacksonville, FL in spot # 14-I must have been the only 1 that saw it B4 it got fixed-You all thought I was dumb huh?? That the seeds and humungously long thread had made me crazy??LOL
Yeah-that's right -see Mao knows I'm not stooopid!!;)-
Fairy, I've been wondering about your name, actually. What happened to the other 1003 fairies? ;)
Ohhhhhhhhh, I am so sorry, don't misunderstand. I just knew the question was not about my name. I think we all choose names for very special reasons. (When we become bettter acquainted, I'll tell you mine. LOL! And none of us are stooopid....we are just about the smartest gals around....look at all the beautiful seeds we will have.
I was just kiddin-it is hard to put something in text with laughter!!!LOL
Let's just say the other 1003 fairies went on vacationand will never be heard from again-LOL-JK, it was my password @ work, so to remember it I used it here!!
lol! ;)
I didn't EVEN see that post before it was updated - makes a lot of sense now - LOL!!

I have a question for everyone...I'm in the process of setting up my first rack and lights and I can't remember if...
Can I use light fixtures that use regular flourescent bulbs or do they have to be plant grow light bulbs?
I would recommend either grow bulbs, or making sure the bulbs you get are full spectrum. Regular fluorescents don't have the range that the plants need.
Wind, here's a slideshow of what I call "my nursery" (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb270/AnkeFreese/Kraamkamer/kraamkamer2007.swf). It's the room where I grow all my seedlings. Especially the first foto might be interesting for you. After some experiencing with grow-lights, I found out that this worked a lot better (and it saves a lot of energy too)!
Tuink - this...is....SPECTACULAR!!! What a great series of pics!!! Do your windows face south?
Thanks so much Tuink, that is very helpful, I will be using the drink cups this year. KD
DRYAD,
They face southeast. They catch the sun in the morning and the early afternoon.

KD,
If you use drinking cups, don't forget to punch holes in the bottom and to put them in a tray. You can pour water in the tray instead of on the soil's surface. This way you will hardly have any damping off!

thank you, loved your photo show Tuink! I wish I had better window space ....that is the problem; our south facing windows are in the front and we have dormers upstairs and they are in the bathrooms!! as it is now they are well stocked with plants :) and this is before all the seedling trays enter in the picture!...I'm going to have to go with lights.
I used to own a health food store/restaurant and used full spectrum lights overhead of the cashier area and in the kitchen where the workers worked. I closed the store a while back but saved the extra bulbs which are collecting dust in my basement!
Maybe I'll try and buy a light fixture to fit them?....only they may be too big. They are what stores use, maybe 48" I think. The shelf I want from Costco is 48" so I might have to buy new bulbs.
I have a question on MG's.
can they be grown as a ground cover?
last year i purchased on small [6' or so] trellis sort of thing... and my Heavenly Blues pulled it over on top of my 4-O'Clocks. I ended up cutting it all back ... so i know i lost a lot of seeds in the process....
but if I could just let them 'ramble' so to speak.. that may work better for me.
yeah - but they are really invasive if you let the seeds "have their way"
where i was planning on "letting them go" there are rabbits that will certainly keep them in check. Last year I had nearly 70-80 seedlings... and i'm lucky if 12 grew to maturity.
I'm sure in some of the images i've posted, you've seen what i call the "Bunny Bush" ... well i had planted over 15 there and only 2 survived. My plan was to have that entire "heap" covered in MG's, but it didnt work out that way.
The bunnies liked your MG's better than their own bush.....
I almost cried every time i saw a bunch missing... i had them going around my chain linik fence, but only had 2 areas that made it.
but,,, i love the bunnies and can't stay too mad at them for too long....i was more pissed at the Canadian Geese the one year they picked my tomato plants clean...
if i could find something that would withstand the bunnies appetites, i'd grow it in bushels.
I can tell ya... they eat rose bushes too.
tcs - I have lots of bunnies and let them do as they please, have you though about clematis? KD
I have them too... climbing my fence... 2 are still quite young and not real big 8yrs old maybe... but my Jackmanii is quite large. i'm thinking my mother planted it in the early to mid-80's ... and i took it with my when i moved. I had to cut it back to the ground at the end of `06 as it was just so big... and when it came back last year i was "training" it in different directions, as the year before it was covering the gate to the point it was hard to open and close.
