We just shut the door to our bedroom when we have company and don't feel like making the bed.
Who is Coming to My House in February??
Can't do that, unless I make people go to the gas station, to use the bathroom..and BTW if you have to use my DH's BR that is what it would be like...it is a wreck!
Thank you.
Thanks but I will worry...I am a bit Obsessive-Compulsive, although you would never guess it. One time, years ago, when I was sick with the flu, my mother told me she was coming over the next day and that started a cleaning frenzy...Phil had to stop me at 3am, with a tooth brush in my hand, from cleaning more....it was wasted on Mom, she knew me, but she was the type that cleaned before the housekeeper was due to be there....
I can just pee outside. That's what I do at home. My wife thinks it's funny that I'll get up, put my boots on, go outside, pee, and then come back inside. She said "Why don't you use the toilet?" to which I respond " It wastes water, it splashes onto the rim, and I'm trying to kill fire ants!". She thinks I'm a weirdo. TMI?
Melva, I promise not to look at your bedrooms if you promise never to come look at mine, lol. Seriously, when the weather is nice I'd much rather be working in the yard than in the house. Oh, and I have long handled loppers, and was already planning on bringing them.
Bronc, have you ever seen the movie, 'The Fastest Indian'. with Anthony Hopkins? In the movie Hopkins has a lemon tree growing in his yard, and faithfully pees on it every day.
Haha! No, I haven't seen it but now I must!
Phil goes to pee outside but he doesn't put his shoes on, and Always comes back inside, gripeing about the rose thorns! I try to get him, to pee on the Bourbons..no black spot on them! But he refuses to 'treat' the ones in the front...
Cocoa, one time, at my parents house, they had company..and the man left his sandwich in the kitchen, unattended...one of my brothers came along and saw it, thought it was my mother's and he took a big bite out of it, and left it on the plate...so the owner of the sandwich, came along, and found the abused sandwich...he was very puzzled....why do boys, think that is funny?
It is a really good movie! I saw on the news awhile back about a local man in his 80's trying to break another land speed record...gives one hope, your never too old to try what you love.
I'm headed to work out in the yard, if I don't post tonight, I'll see everyone in the Morning...drive safe...this is going to be fun...I hope we manage to get some work done.lol
My car is mess and it smell of cigarettes ... so dont anyone rush to the car to meet me. lol Actually I don't clean my house until its time for the housekeeper too ... and that mostly to put things up so I can find them ... and I hang up my clothes and change the litter box and soak the big pots. I say to myself I can do this myself, but I never do. lol My Mom always said I would make a lousy wife ... so I guess thats why I never married.
TJ, that is so nice of you to risk your life so I don't over eat on cheescake! LOL!!
Melva, don't worry about the house. We promise not to take pictures or look on the way to the pottie! LOL! Who wants to clean house when it is so georgeous outside this weekend??
Cocoa..I loved that movie!!! DH and I have started watching a lot of movies this last year. That is a memorable one.
Sylvia...See you tomorrow, stinky car and all! LOL!
Check list:
Cornbread for all
Bottled water (at least one for all)

See everyone tomorrow!
Wake up everyone it is today, and it is going to be georgeous weather wise. Melva you couldn't have planned it better.
See you all later. My meeting isn't over until about 9:20, then I will be on the way.

Phil asked me, if anyone is bringing beer....and we need yellow squash, we used it all...can someone get some, please?
and spoons...we have somehow managed to misplace most of ours.
Okay, I am not going to get there until around 11 or 11:30. I forgot about making a dessert last night, so how about if I pick up some beer and spoons on the way?
Sure, that is fine...I found enough spoons so just the beer, please.
Okay, sounds good!
Would you believe the plumber just showed up? I will be there as soon as I can.
Thanks to those who were able to come to my house today....you guys got a lot done! I don't feel quite, as over whealmed!
Well, I think we lucked out. That was a beautiful day! I had a great time, the company and food was wonderful. It was so good to see everyone.
Thank you for having us over, Melva. I had a hot bath last night, some advil this morning and gearing up to tackle some weeds here. I love my little rose babies!
Bronc, thanks for my fhh's, these feel special, I just know these will live....oh, and I want your dogs.lol
Dawn, it was so good to meet you and all my cardboard has me feeling like it's Christmas. A big "THANK YOU" for saving and hauling all of it.
I'm wondering too... Pbtx...did you straight home last? Regrettin' not following you.lol
I had a wonderful time too! Company and food were just great. And, it was great to meet our newbie Liz, and to finally meet Dawn in person.
Yes, Cocoa, I went straight home. Had a nap, and was still too tired to go out again last night. My dh said to tell you how great your chocolate was!
Thanks to Cocoa for the seeds, and Liz for the asters. I can't wait to see them blooming.
Cocoa,
I had a mountain of boxes for you, in all the excitement, I forgot to give them to you..you will just have to come back! There are a lot more roses that were on your list....By the time you come back, they should be ready to go home with you...
Pb, still disappointed that I passed on going, but caught people giving me sideways glances at the store. Not sure I could have cleaned up enough to be in public. Tell your Dh, I said "thanks".
Melva, in all the excitement I forgot about your cardboard too! Hopefully I can be back soon. Tell Liz it was nice meeting her and I hope she'll join DG soon.
I enjoyed my workday with all of you crazy gardeners!! Hope everyone got home safe and sound. Loved meeting you Liz, and seeing everyone else again. Glad to spend time visiting with each of you.
Thanks Melva for the tasty soup! Sorry we didn't bring disposable bowls and left you with the dishes. Everything that was brought by others was great too. Thanks for the plant goodies several of you brought to share also.
I think Liz is already a member....
thanks for all your help, guys....and Bronc, hope the Zebrinas AKA French Hollyhocks, transplant well for you.
and Cocoa, thanks for the Quince.
It was a blast! Thanks to Liz and Coco for retrieving me. I really enjoyed you guys. Melva the soup was awesome! I dont remember who made the bread, was it Liz? I am ready to start making bread again. I got a cuisenart and a Kitchen Aid and both are so suppose to make dough, please tell where to get receipes. Also I would like to make those candies for Christmas gifts. They sure look expensive to make, but I got about ten months to save up the money and learn how to make them. lol Bronco you were a blast as usual, cant wait until we get to your place! lol
Sylvia
Who has the photos? Somebody had to have taken some! Horsie was there!
I think Sheila was taking Photo ... I don't believe I forgot to take pictures! Sheila I sure hope you didn't take a picture of me ... I looked terrible, with my ragged Lady Bugs on my feet. I meant to go to Mass after I left there, but I looked too bad for the poor Peoples Mass.
No my camera stayed in the car. But DawninTx had hers and I meant to sneak and get it so we could get her picture, but forgot. We should have planned the event for later in the day, it was chilly when we first started.
Someone said it was in the mid 30's early that morning.
Horsie was a very good host and even when out and tried to meet TJ's dogs. He was walking around up on the roof at one point. He was loving all the attention for sure.
Sylvia, It was me and Cocoa, that went to get you....credit.....where credit is due.It was Liz that made the homemade bread, and Dawn that made the banana nut bread...
It was in the 30's when we started...Brisk!
Can we do it again? I will make more soup!
Well ladies, I enjoyed the day! The food was great! The company and conversation was even better! Melva, I think your place looked like a million bucks after we got done. You'll have to take pics of everything in bloom for us. It was great meeting you, Liz! Cocoa, thanks for the Gaura and your chocolates were delicious! Sylvia, you are a hoot! Sheila, your book of seeds was awsome! Pbtx, it was great to actually have time to talk with you and let me know if I need to come to Garland to get the vinca major because I will. Dawn, it was also great talking to you about our similar soils as I need all the empathy I can get. Can't wait to see you all again, SOON!
It was a great day TJ. We will have nicer weather hopefully at your place in April.
Here is their website with all the info, and some great pictures.
