Who is Coming to My House in February??

This is going to be fun and good to see everyone again. Same here, LMK what to bring.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

We will need chairs...dessert is good...always is!

I bring some extra chairs, cups, bowls and cutlery and a snacky something.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Would changing it to the day after..the 24th, so Josephine can be there, effect others? One day, does not make much difference to me. Let me know.
Sylvia, cornbread, would be great! When I make soup I put lots of things into it, does anyone have anything they can't eat? It will be a beef soup, with lots of vegetables.
Ideas of things to bring....
can someone bring stuff to put on top of the soup? Cheese, croutons...that sort of thing..
maybe even sandwiches, what do you think?
I can make chili too, I can always freeze what we don't eat, Phil and I, eat a lot of chili...some people (Yankees) put sour cream on top of chili, it is pretty good, and it isn't too far from shredded cheese. (I love Yankees, some of them are my best friends)

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

The 24th is okay with me, but I'll have to come after church.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

The 24th is ok too, don' t have a preference.
but......SHEILA is bringing the cornbread LOL!

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry Shelia...I was close., it began with an 'S'! That is good, for me! I miss my brain...
Guess Saturday the 23d is better (sorry Josephine) so we can start earlier, break for lunch...and maybe do some more, after that? So I am thinking begin about 10am? Cocoalulu how far is Denton from you?

Either day works for me, I'm about two hours away so I'll be there closer to 10:30.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Okay, 2 hours, piece of chocolate! I had a friend that lived in East Texas, in Beckville and it would take her about 4 hours so she would leave early!
This is going to be fun!

Well, I adore you and horsie, but asking me to get up at 6:00am to prune roses would be pushing your luck. I don't even do that at home.lol

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I would never ask you to do that! Rozanna was a very early riser so she was up anyway...it always took me longer than 4 hours, to drive to her house. That woman drove fast! I hated to ride with her...she was scary!
10:30, is fine Cocoa...I am just tickled that you are going to be there! I adore you too.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

That is O.K. Melva, I know you girls, will have a good time, maybe I will make next time, I can not miss Molly's big birthday. Have Fun.
Josephine.

Dallas, TX

Josephine, we know you ... and you are not about to tear yourself away from any wild flowers. ... and we do look forward to your reports ... and take plenty of pictures

Omg Patti! speaking of ponds I got a couple running into the neighbors yard and on down the alley. Rather than tell me there was problem, they called the water Dept.

Sylvia, I'll bet that's your problem. Answered in d-mail.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

I would love to come also. Which date is the final one? I can bring croutons and shredded cheese for the soup or chili. I'll bring my pruners and shovels. Do you have a limb shredder?

Melva, the roses that you brought to the FWru are growing like crazy. I know you said they were noids, but I thought maybe you might know the names of the climbers? I am pretty sure at least two of them are climbers as they are going straight up and continuing to stretch as they grow. I have them indoors on a shelf in front of a window. They have passed up the shelf that is above them and are still going onwards and upwards. LOL

Charlene

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Charlene,
The final date is Saturday, the 23d of February...
Can you take a picture of the roses? They might be (the climbers) Haynesville Pink Cluster, or Magic Dragon, or Camellia Rose (I think at least one I gave you is Camellia)

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

They aren't blooming, can you tell just from the picture of the plant without blooms? You did tell me that you thought that Camellia rose was one that you gave me. You said that they had gotten mixed up and you weren't sure. You gave me three of them and two are climbing.

I will photograph if you can tell w/o blooms.

Charlene

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Sometimes I can tell...sometimes...

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll be there......unless........this has become a ladies-only event.

Nevada, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm planning on coming. I can bring crackers and a cheese dip, or a dessert, or both.
About what time did you want to get this party started?

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Good, I will be glad to see you and your dessert...I was thinking to start about 10ish...

Nevada, TX(Zone 8a)

10ish sounds good to me. Maybe I'll make some banana bread or muffins for "brunch." I'm an early riser, and that gives me plenty of time to get things ready before I head out. Denton should be just about an hour drive for me. As we get closer to the date I'll have to get directions.

And bronc, I'm sure we would all love for you to show up!

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Bronc, says he is going to be there..

Nevada, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL, laughing at bronc's comment...

Quoting:
I'll be there...unless...this has become a ladies-only event.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

You may be outnumbered, Bronc...but you are very welcome to this...it is not just for Ladies..Mitch, are you going to be there too?

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

charlene, I thought of another rose that you probably have...it is one by the name of Laure Davoust, and it is a climber...I had 4 of them and I just have 1 right now...I bet you have one.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Laure Davoust hmm coool! I can't wait for them to bloom.

Charlene

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

We need more men to be at my house, so poor Bronc, is not so outnumbered....

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Mitch had said he was coming I think.

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Did I miss Mitch saying that? I looked, but just saw where Bronc said he would be there...Mitch? are you there?

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

I goofed, I didn't realize how far you were from me. I wish I could make it, but hopefully will see you all in Waxahachie or College Station or both.

You guys have fun and don't work too hard! Well, on second thought, Work hard!!

If there is anyone going up 45 I would meet up with you and make the trip. I looked at where everyone is coming from that is posted and no one here is going my way as far as I can tell.

Charlene

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh too bad, Charlene! I am only about 40 miles further than Arlington...can anyone who is coming, help her out?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

You're right of course, that was on the April 19th event thread, sorry! So guys.....who is going to step up and help us here???

Melvatoo....You might add the date on your first post as an "UPDATE" in case someone might be confused. Also as time gets closer maybe a head count so we know we are bringing enought food.
Sheila_FW

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

Shelia,
How do I update the post?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Can't update the title, but just the top posting with the pic of Horsie, by just clicking edit. Type UPDATE in caps so it will draw attention.
I just thought it would be helpful for someone that wasn't following the thread to see the date there.

Dallas, TX

People like me? lol

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

If the shoe fits...well, you know the rest! lol!

Denton, TX(Zone 7a)

I need a head count...
and Mitch..are you going to be able to be there??

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I plan on coming and will bring cornbread to go with the pot of soup!
I will also bring bottled water and a few drinks for those who forget theirs.
Bringing my clippers, knee bench, and gloves.
Sheila_FW
(Melva, please dmail address / directions and a phone # in case I get lost)

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)
