Cindy.................. If some of the seedlings i am growing turn out to be something different then yes, i will name them!!

Hey Mark, I have some 'Lucifer" seeds that were given to me, how or what is the easiest way to germinate them? I really don't want to screw it up. I have a few in the baggie method and it has been 3 weeks and nothing yet, is that normal? These will probably be the only ones I do, cause I've decided this summer to buy plants from you, that will be easier yet.. But the bull in me wants to try a few seeds, just so I can say I did it. HaHa

Northeast, LA(Zone 8a)

I want to know too since I have a few seeds.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Good, I was hoping someone else would want to know. I'm just so stubborn sometimes, this has got me wondering if it takes awhile for them to germinate.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Good Morning
Let me tell ya how we got a lawn....I mean seedlings.

Start with a good compost and fill seed trays almost full....
wet the soil and add more compost if needed to maintain almost full.

Place seeds on to dampened soil and barely cover.....just enough soil to cover seeds and
not wash off when watered...

Do NOT cover!!! Place in a dark area they do not like light at first!!!

Do NOT allow to dry out!! They will never sprout... We used a spray bottle
and misted them to keep the top soil damp.

Since I did not keep records as to how long they took to sprout (me bad)
Cannot say but they will just about the time you give up on them!!!

If you need more info...I have a throbbing headache so this may not make sense.. just holler

Just stopping in to say howdy!

(Cathy), MO

Is "howdy" a proper word Tammy?

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL.....................................

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL ok so now I can add to the above...............

by place in the dark... I meant no artificial light........Ours sit on the kitchen counter where it is darkish but they do get light when the lights are on..and some light from the window...

I use the spray bottle between watering the soil.............when they are light feeling I gently water them all...

If a seed pops out when you are watering just gently push down and cover.

Also firm down soil over seeds.................

LOL there I think that is it........

Hey anybody hear from Traci lately? I sent her a d-mail and nothing back....

Hi all, yes, I heard from her this morning, she said she would call, but no word yet :o)
Cathy, howdy words...we now officially use dictionary.com, so if ever you see a violator...look it up and throw the book at them-LOL

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi Robbi, haven't seen you in a while.

I was sent a few baggies full of Zinna seeds for newbies. I'm setting them aside to send to you when I can.

Saint Cloud, MN(Zone 4b)

Great!! Thanks, or maybe we can do this by zones, I take one through 5 and you take 6 through 10, LOL...I am not sure if that would work-but it is worth some thought :o) Can zone 1 even plant-LOL I am not sure I have heard of it.

I have been around, just not as much as I am down to one computer. So I have to share-not very good at sharing my computer-LOL

HGTV boards are a great place to hang out too. I've "met" some really great people there on the gardening and craft boards. Why would you "try" to get banned????????

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning everyone!

(Cathy), MO

Good morning again Tammy. Ladybug, I think Mark was just flexing his "bad boy" muscles! :-)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

And he is the best "bad boy" we know! HA HA HA

(Cathy), MO

Well......I don't know if I'd go that far! LOL. I've known some pretty bad ones!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

HA HA HA I guess we wouldn't want his head to swell, would we?! LOL Then Lauri has to live with him! :)

(Cathy), MO

Right! She'd have to deflate him everyday then!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

HE HE HE HE HE
Mark is going to whip us for sure! LOL
