Help Plants in trouble

Vansant, VA

I have 2 plants that need help. One is not really a houseplant, I started it from seed its supposed to be a moon flower bush. I have really babied it, lol. The other is a little one that had been neglected at my work place and I am trying to save it here at home.

Please help any suggestions/recommendations welcome!

Happy New year!

I think it has had too much water. Pull back a little and see how it does.

PS...It's a Dieffenbachia.

Hi Jackie, both your plants look like they have been scorched by being too close to a window with Strong direct sunburn, OR a room that the heat is too dry for them, the first plant looks like the soil is too dry where the second looks a bit like the soil WAS too wet and now drying off. what I would do is, fill a small bowl with water, add half strength liquid plant food, maybe a tomato feed of something like that, sit the plant each in the bowl of water till the soil changes colour from drawing UP the water, then let any surplus water drain away, then sit them onto a saucer, and next time you think they need water, stick your finger into the soil and test if it is damp or dry, if dry, water the plants, if still damp, wait for a few days, you will see the brown marks on the leaves, these will probably drop off eventually, but that is no big deal, as they have suffered from some kind of shock, they will still grow new leaves, they need good light in winter, but not direct sunlight through a glass that helps to magnify the sun/heat onto the foliage. come early spring, I would perhaps re-pot them into a slightly larger pot as once you get them growing, the roots will need more room to grow, I would add the liquid feed say once every month at half doze till spring, then add it every 2 weeks, eventually adding to full doze as stated on the bottle. Good Luck. WeeNel.

The first plant looks like an unknown datura. These type of plant requires alot of feeding and sunlight to thrive. I would avoid feeding the plant however, when it's dried. I'd water it the day before I attempt to fertilize them. That way you'd avoid fertilizer burn.
