It's days like this that make me wish I'd been born a duck.

Doctor, can you please examine me? I think I'm coming down with something. Everywhere I look, I see black spots. I see them in the sky ...

And, I see them in the trees ...

Please doctor, tell me, "Am I going to live or die?"

As hard as it may be to believe, there are a few American Robins that actually winter over as far north as Anchorage, Alaska! I've seen a small flock in the same area yesterday and again today. Yesterday was the first time I have seen one during the winter. Today I was able to get a few pictures.

Today the American Robins were mixed in with a large flock of Bohemian Waxwings and at least one Varied Thrush. They were feeding on frozen Crab Apples. There were also a few Redpolls and a few B. C. Chickadees in the same tree. Unfortunately the light was barely marginal for photography.

Where lived before, just about 45-50 miles north of here, we had some all winter. But not here where we are now. Very weird!

Great pics everyone! Happy New Year! and Happy Birthday Bird Watching Forum!

Stunning Black Vulture pics Charles!

Just got back from our trip to MILs in New Jersey... We had a great time, but it sure is nice to be home again. Gladnes is an avid birder too so I was able to see some new faces while I was there. She has Winterberry, Sweetgum, Sassafras, and some other berry trees and shrubs in her yard. The trees are very tall, so it was very difficult to get shots of the Titmice, Chickadees, and Goldfinches, which were all over the Sweetgum pecking at the seeds. Robins and Mockingbirds guard the Winterberry...

Goldfinches were very hard to photograph so high up in the Sweetgum trees
