I have rust on my Princess Flower plant. Does anyone know what may be causing this? I live in California in the central valley...we have had a couple of nights below freezing.
Rust on leaves of my Princess Flower plant
Can you post a picture? I've found they don't especially like frost (at least mine don't!) so I wonder if what you're seeing might be frost/cold damage and not rust. They'll usually come back in the spring but mine frequently get discolored leaves, drop leaves, etc when we get cold frosty nights.
Hi Vallygal, I think Ecrane is right about the leaves being frost damaged and turned brown rather than the disease called rust, IF you rub one of the leaves and some rusty coloured powder shows on your finger, then you have the disease called rust which can spread and causes leaves to drop, you must gather those and burn them and remove ant other rusty leaves so it don't spread, but if the leaves are turning brown due to some cold wind or frost/cold temp, they will not have the powdery rust on them, but just loosing the green colour naturally due to the drop in temp. good luck.
