Very nice looking plant. I may be wrong but it looks like an Ornamental Sweet Potato Vine ... they get pink flowers:

Thank plantladylin that is exactly what I needed to know!!!

You are very welcome. I love this plant and use it in container's all summer. It is so pretty whether in bloom or not! Mine has all died back now but the little tubers are still there under the soil, waiting for spring to re-sprout! So, if your plant dies back, the tubers should still be okay and it will begin to grow again in spring if it's kept in a warm location. I dont' know if they will survive winter outside in your area.

They will not overwinter in Missouri, but as plantladylin said, keep them above freezing and they'll resprout in spring. Great plant!

I agree with growgirl59. I dig mine out of their containers and store them in my cool basement. Then I plant them early spring to get them started again. I plant the lime green variety too,'Marguerite'.

Pattysplants, what a beautiful container of plants. For the life of me I can't figure out what's growing (I guess it's growing) up the fence post in the upper left hand side of your picture. Looking at this beautiful pot makes me anxious for warm weather again!

Hi, growgirl59, it's actually a chair made from posts that I wraped grape vine around and stuck in a branch of rose hips from my Rugosa Ruby Rose. And Thank you. Patty

I don't mean to intrude on the thread, but I had one of these this summer(it was just a cutting from my sister's) and I decided to bring it inside this winter. It's doing ok, but I've noticed little white things along the middle of some of the leaves. I don't think its bugs, it almost looks like some sort of sugar or salt crystal. It doesn't seem to be hurting the leaves(so I'm guessing its no bug chomping on it), but I decided to leave the stuff on to see what it would do. I've noticed on one that now it seems to have turned black and shrunk....I've also noticed these "crystals" on some of the stems. I'm not sure what to do about it.....

Thanks for any ideas!

Can you post a picture?

(Zone 1)

A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say! It could be mealie bugs. But, if you could post a photo someone may be able to tell you for sure what the problem is.

If it really is crystals (and not insects, insect eggs, etc) it could be a process called guttation--some plants do this where the leaves will ooze out a little bit of liquid, sometimes this could look like drops of moisture, but if it dries I would imagine it could form crystals. I have no idea if sweet potatoes typically do this or not.

I would post a pic, but I don't have a camera.....I wish I did though! I am almost positive its crystals, but I don't know for sure. I will keep you updated on any "changes" with it.
