Hi!!!! I miss you guys!!!

Quoting:
he married Olivia, who worked at the Avonlea General Store...and he's the one who invented the "Magic Lantern" (camera) (supposedly...)

ahh. i think maybe they left that part out of the books. i never saw the Avonlea TV series, just the Anne miniseries (the first 2 were great, but the third one - yikes! what were they thinking?)

There is actually an Avonlea Village tourist attraction on PEI now - supposed to be - i think - kind of a colonial williamsburg type place, but it was woefully underpopulated when we visited.

We were up there two years ago and loved PEI. What a peaceful place it is.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sounds nice. Is it a nice Summer vacation place for families?? I never read Green Gables. I did read House of the Seven Gables though. And I like Clark Gable.

Oh, Victor! You must be on caffeine all day!

Yes, it has beautiful unspoiled beaches, areas for hiking, lovely restaurants and shops and a nine mile bridge to get there from New Brunswick. Charlottetown is a lovely place for shopping, dining, fun, theatre.

Not too crowded? Expensive? (Michaela says that Canadians are not the friendliest people - hee hee)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Not crowded at all and Michaela is just teasing if she said that - very friendly people, very helpful, too. I can even give you the name of a little garden up there and maybe you can get to see our daylilies in bloom. What a nice guy tends that garden!

Hello all!
I'm here for fun and gardening (in that order) not work! (Although you would make a good research project ;^))

Kassia, I know APRNs that do private therapy.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

But I have gardening issues with my mom, Dave.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Victor...I prefer Betty Gable...or was it GRABLE ? oh never mind....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree - couldn't beat those legs!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

One of my dad's navy buddies let it slip that my dad had that famous Betty Grable picture on the ship...so he taped my mom's photo over Betty's face...only her face was pointing the OTHER direction ! We found it in his Navy trunk after he passed away. Too funny !

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's a classic! Hope you saved it.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Great story Mike!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

We did...my oldest DS has it...the proportions are a "little off" to say the least , which makes it all the more funny !

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Hey!!!! I still miss you guys!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi Kass! How's the shoulder?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh, it still hurts... with all the snow it has been a bit sore... but I find it that if I am shopping or gardening; or taking care of the turtles I forget the pain... typing bothers me... but it's life...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have you had it imaged yet? Be careful - you really don't want to make it worse! A tear can become a bigger one, which you do not want.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

the md said it is arthritis... and after the holidays I am looking for a second opinion... it is a pain!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Kassia...no more playing on the trapeze ! Don't aggravate it by doing any more digging or lifting !

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh Mike I am trying not to laugh too hard at the scene... me on the trapeze!!!!!

I am glad there is so much snow outside that I don't have to dig anything...
