Funniest Thing I Saw Today

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

On my way to work this morning I saw the sign at the Roy Rogers which said:
"Give the Gift of Roast Beef"
It really struck my funny bone, as it was quite early and on my drive through the mts. I think of a lot of things especially at this time of year and of all the gifts to give, I would have never thought of Roast Beef!

What is your funny for today?

here's one that got me the other day. Was out driving and got stopped behind the school bus. While sittign there noticed the piece of property across the road had been sold and they had brought in some big huge beautiful piece s of granite.

This a big open field with only a small shed on it, after sevral years somebody bought it and acros s the driveway they hung a chain with a sign. Normally most folks have Keep Out or No Tresspassing or Attack Dog on Premises or such on the signs. Not these folks, sign said

" Do Not Enter Attack Turtle On Site"

I've had this pic for a while, but the sign is still up and it cracks me up every time I see it. Last year, they put Christmas lights around it, I"ll have to go see if they did that again

saw a bumper sticker the other day that said....Ok, I made it over the hill.....now what do I win?"

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL, those are good ones. I can't wait to see that with the lights this season, can you imagine.
I can appreciate that over the hill one and as I recall I didn't receive anything either.
Attack turtle, sure would get my attention!

Funny stuff.
I don't know if this fits. My grown children email me often and I enjoy their conversations with me very much.
Last week DD sent me an email that she had found the perfect gift for her brother. She bought him a terrarium of carnivorous plants and the movie " Little Shop of Horrors".
Well, this morning I got an email from DS that let me know that he found the perfect gift for his sister, a terrarium of carnivorous plants and a DVD of "Little Shop of Horrors".
I can't wait for Christmas. It is going to be pretty funny when they open their gifts.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

That is too funny you will have to report back to us on their reactions after they open each others gifts!!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Now that is really something. Proves great minds really do think alike! Be sure to keep us posted!

Norfolk, VA

would love to see pictures of them as they realize they got the same things!!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Not just the same gift, but something so unique as well.

(Zone 7a)

I saw a marquis on a business once that said, "If it's in stock, we have it."

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Now that is priceless!!!

(Zone 7a)

After they were done with that one, they put a new one up that said, "If we don't have it, you don't need it."

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

The guys out in the shop were having a bad week once and broke a couple things they were suppose to be fixing.
I posted a sign that read "If it is not broke, we can fix that" (the customers of course could not see it)
The guys didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did. (trust me, it was just a payback, they deserved it)

(Zone 7a)

AH HA HA HA HA ...

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL, that is great

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

You all just have a warped sence of humor like me. LOL

Good to know we're not alone. LOL

I really like this thread. Sometimes we are not having a very good day and we can be gifted with a laugh.

My D.H. and I were laughing away at the stories on this thread. We really liked " give the gift of roast beef ". That is just too much! And the terrarium gifts! Thinking of Christmas presents...a couple of years back my 87 year old M.I.L. wrapped canned goods...soup, fruit, etc. as gifts for our nephew who had just graduated from college and was living on his own, without roommates for the first time. Each can was wrapped separately and it was just hilarious to see the confused expression on his face as he opened his gifts, trying to be properly gracious. "Oh it's a can of pineapple!" "It's a can of pork and beans!" "Wow. Tuna."

This is a sign that hangs on a front door of a house, that the owner of the nursery lives in, on the the nursery grounds. I think it fits most of us gardeners.

I saw a bumper sticker awhile back I thought was funny.

" Don't Let Your Mind Wander, its to little to be left alone "

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

A bunch of great chuckles going on here. : ) Thanks for starting the thread.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

"Too little to be left alone" that just tweaks my funny bone this morn. I can just imagine that boys delight at the can of tuna!!! Gonna make his day!
Great sign tilly, believe it is fitting for this thread, another bunch of characters, good ones though with a great sense of humor!

My brother always gives food for presents. He is on this dried cherries kick now and every year, everyone gets a bag of dried cherries. He even wraps it in the same paper. (he must have bought a huge roll of the stuff, because it is the same paper for the last 10 years)
4 years of dried cherries, we will see this year. It is a hoot.

I was just chuckling to myself remembering a call I got at work a few weeks ago.
This fellow called and was really excited on the phone about the fact that he was calling us and he was 1400 miles away. I tried to play into his excitement and responded 'Oh really, where are you calling from" to which he responded, "My brother's cell phone"!

I think I got some of that same Christmas wrap as I have one roll that is like an everready bunny it just keeps going!

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

Too funny!

I agree, I am sure Michigan wouldn't have anything like that. LOL

(Zone 7a)

Woofens, may I share that with friends? That's too good not to! LOL

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Sure Kwan... I think the kid did it on a dare, but boy was it funny!!

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

That is too funny!!! Yeah he does not look like he is lacking in the food department..

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Near where I work, there is one of those women's makeup salon type places with a sign in the window that reads, "Ear Piercing While You Wait". DUH !!! I didn't know you could drop your ears off in the morning and pick them up after work !

A strip mall on one corner has it's communal dumpster on the corner near the alley. There is a professionally lit up sign over the dumpster that reads "Yum Yum Do-Nuts". (no cops at that one.)

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Lol those are good JasperDale

(Zone 7a)

LOL

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Many years ago there was a huge exotic pet store near where we lived.
They always had those huge paper signs across the window advertising the recent 'specials'.
My favorite one was: MOTHER'S DAY TARANTULAS !!!

(Zone 7a)

A few years ago here, there was photo studio that had a sign that said, "Have your Valentine shot here."

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

A few years back our new phone book had a stick on ad on the cover - it said "Free Cedit Report" the bottom fine print said 'credit report $1'

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LMBO, I don't know which of those is a bigger hoooooooooot, those are hilarious.

(Zone 7b)

Someone keeps stealing some of the letters from a chain restaurant sign here in town, so that it reads:

Mc icke Sandwich
