Hi, when I got these beauties they were only about 8 inches tall. Then someone named jack came by and tossed some magic beans by them, and now they are shooting up! From the ground they measure about 5'. My DH is in the background for perspective (he's 5'10"). I'm expecting a goose soon to come laying golden eggs and a singing harp. :o)
Seriously, I think they are so cool, but am wondering -- am I supposed to do something with them at this point, or is this just part of what they do?
kolanchoe thrysiflora going up up up
I am almost sure in your zone they are growing as they would normally, here in UK, we can only grow them as house plants, must be honest, Hope they never grow to the size yours have, good luck. WeeNel.
They look like they're flowering. I'd leave them alone for now.
Post pics when they open.

I'll be sure to post pics when they bloom. thanks!
To me they look like the Jade plant we had in Calif. as a out door plant. They look like they are flowering, but what kind of light are they getting? They may need more looks like their are elongated and looking for more light, I'm just guessing, but thats what the leaves look like. are they indoors or out?
I had them outdoors in full sun when they took off. I read they prefer warmth, so I've been bringing them in on chillier nights. We've been having seriously mild and warm temps recently though, so they are back outside. They seem to be happy doing what they are doing. I'm looking forward to the flowers.
Can't wait to see what they look like, I can't figure out why so tall or you got a giant
lurking around Better check under the bed Ha Ha.
Did they come with a name tag?
tag said Kalonchoe thyrsiflora, but Im still keeping an eye out for a giant :o)
Let us know if that goose shows up too.
I was given this plant several years ago and stored it in my garage to overwinter. The flower was as tall as the garage ceiling and finally fell over and broke off. Ever since then, I have taken the side shoots off and raised them as a separate plant. I guess I must have raised over 75 plants from that one. If you place it in the sun in with no shade, it will turn a pretty red. Of course now I have all of mine in the greenhouse until March. I keep them in a gallon pot until I see the pups, then transplant the younguns. The offsprings have never flowered.

Wow -- 75 plants! That is awesome! Does the mother plant continue to flower?
Mother plant has not flowered since.
