I have another question, too. I have several bulbs for this plant and would like to know if I can leave them in the planter and let them dry in the garage over the winter or should remove them.
Thanks again,
Kwanjin
Gladiolus callianthus
Anyone?
Hi kwanjin. I found this information on PlantFiles :
"...dig up corms and store at 60°-68° F."
"I let lay on the ground a few days (if not freezing) then cut tops off and let corms sit in open container in garage for another week before taking them down under a table in the basement. Very simple to save. They will have many tiny corms around the base that can be grown on next year but will not bloom the first year being so small."
I know it doesn't specifically answer your question, but I hope it helps!

Okay, that helps. Guess I'll be pulling them out and storing them in the basement instead of the garage.
Thanks, Ginny.
You're very welcome :-)
Hi Kwanjin, dont pull them up, but dig the bulbs out, tie them into bundles by the foliage and hang them till they are all dry, then tug off the foliage freeing the bulbs, and store till next spring when it is time to replant them, keep checking the bulbs in storage incase any start to rot, they should remain firm and plump, any that go soft or signs of mould should be discarded. good luck. WeeNel.
