No. I don't have anything blooming - yet - indoors, but I thought it might be fun to share some color. Post all you wish. We all need some color this time of year. Right?
Indoor Blooms, Anyone?
I will wait
:)
Would love to add to this, Candyce, but I don't have any houseplants, believe it or not! Cats and plants don't go well together.
I went out to plant some leftover Snowdrops today but found a ½ layer of frozen soil on top. I decided to plant them in a pot with fresh potting soil and leave it in an unheated protected area. Then take them out when I see the others outside bloom, - hope it works. No pics yet though, (sre ☺).
Ps. I am Soooooooooo glad I don't have cats!! Purrrrrr ☺
I have a few amaryllis that will be blooming soon.... and hopefully my goldfish plant will also... amazing how large it has grown in the last year.... I had it in a 4" pot last winter... re-planted it in a larger container... now hanging about 8" over the sides now... slow grower... but getting there
here is a shot from last year
edit... my spelling stinks!

and bebop I would say yes... it's an indoor bloom
Beautiful, and it seems very delicate as well, definetly something to be proud of.
Merry Christmas!
Victor said ... "Cats and plants don't go well together."
How true! A neighbor gave me some cuttings from some vintage houseplants. All the while I was rooting them, the cats never bothered the cuttings at all. I was beginning to think that perhaps the little darlings were done playing with the plants. Nope!!
I potted the cuttings up this past week end and put them in a nice corner of my bedroom. What do I find every day now? At least one or more of the cuttings has been pulled up and dragged across the floor. And, it seems that it's the azalea that's been the most popular one to dig up!
I'd shut my bedroom door during the day, but there's no heat going directly to the room, so that idea is out.
Polly ~ that's a real beauty!
Gorgeous Polly!
Thank you. As soon as it quits blooming it's going back outdoors into a sheltered spot, and I hope it will survive the winter. But even if I lose it, for the price I paid it was worth the fragrance in the house.
Ohhhhh, Anita! Now THAT'S what I mean about indoor blooms!! I love the way you 'collage' the photos, too. It gives more of an 'awe factor'!
Beautiful Anita!! Thank you for sharing.
Hello all
Does the "butterfly ginger" that I just (20 minutes ago) inhaled upon count?
Oh - it doesn't. That is still outside on 6 December 2007.
Thats right :) , But don't worry winter is still going to get here.
Great shots Anita and Patti! Streptocarpus sounds like a disease! Patti - the first one is that great abutilon I had much success with this Summer.
Victor, I brought that one in few years ago into my dark Vt house for the winter, it did pretty well, but the white flies, love love loved it, but so do I. It does much better in the GH in Nantucket, but then it still is a WF magnet. Oops I'll bet you will read that wrong. Patti
great shots Anitabryk2 & bbrookrd.... thanks for brightening up my day
Allison
Nice Patti - everything in my yard has succumbed to the cold
Polly - that Pink Attraction looks like it has glitter on it! So pretty!
Anita - what lovely blooms to enjoy on a cold winter day!
Patti - would you be willing to identify each of your photos if it isn't too much trouble? I'm very interested in seeing if a couple of them might be hanging around here. They are all interesting and very pretty!
Thanks.
I thought it was some sort of bug when I first brought it in, but it wasn't and I never did figure out what was on them. They were under the trees so something off the trees.
Patti and Anita, how lovely. I am just going to have to try some houseplants that are supposed to be easy. Any suggestions? Obviously you both do well with houseplants.
Patti, I'm thinking about bringing in some hellebores for forcing. I see White Flower Farms is selling them. Apparently all they need is a three week cooling period outside, and I have a couple left in pots. I would love to see these bloom inside.
here is an easy one for you polly... Arboricola
I can even cut of piece off mine and send it to you.... roots in water

Very nice Allison. Used to have that in my office.
I keep cutting it back... and it gets bigger and bigger every year... too bad it can't survive outside here... but that plant is way over 10 years old.... if you want some Victor let me know
I used to have one of those, too, Allison. That was before the cats!
Yours is a gorgeous plant. You should be very proud of it.
Thanks Allison, but same problem here - the cat.
Perhaps we should begin trading ideas for 'cat prevention'.
Or trade cats until we find one that stays away from plants.
Mine only bothers my spider plants...he's addicted. Literally.
Now, THAT'S funny!
I can just seem him rolling around in a patch of sunlight with a 'spider-plant-eating' grin on his face!
I have 3 plants and I rotate them so he doesn't chew one completely bare. He actually gets frisky and attacks the dogs. Lately my male dog will go crawl under the bed when he see's Romeo eating the 'greens'.
Allison,
I really like that one. Let me see if I can find it locally, if not may I hit you up for a start in the spring? Maybe I have something you would like to trade for.
Thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it.
Polly
I have one too. It does get very large. It spent the summer outside. I put it in the shed to see if it will survive the winter. In the meanwhile, I started some cuts in the basement under lights. African Violets don't take too much work. Neither do streptocarpus. If they're happy, they flower.
let me know how it goes with the shed storage Anita... I would love to keep some that way
sadly I admit I killed my African violet & a strep... but one strep is doing fine... not even sure what the difference was between the two.... but one is doing fine
