Hi- I have a clivia that flowered this year for the first time. I don't know if I should cut the flower stalk at the bottom or leave it. any input is appreciated
clivia flower stalk. do I cut it off?
I cut the flower heads off, leave the stalks for a bit till they start to look a bit yellow then either pull them free or cut them at the bottom, these plants flower better when they have almost filled the pot, so dont be tempted to re pot till really needed, but if grown out side, then they will grow into large clumps themselves, I give mine a feed after flowering as this helps give energy back into the bulb. good luck.
