X, have you considered putting your lady bug larvae picture in bug files? Folks on the butterfly and hummingbird forum have searched for pictures of emerging lady bugs. We can find the picture of the larvae but I haven't seen the eggs. Sure would be a great help. Are the eggs black until hatched? They just look transparent so I'm guessing they may be dark from the larvae inside. Are they round or oval? They look villianous as babies don't they. Loved your weed shot! If it wasn't for dandilions in early spring, my butterflies wouldn't have any nectar in my gardens. I've just got to work on all season flowers.

I enjoy your site very much. Cannas are beautiful!

Actually, when they first start to emerge they are sort of translucent. They go black after a few minutes. Can't get a positive ID on them so I really can't offer them up to bugfiles.
