I like that one Amy, especially with my electrical background.
What are your DG and NE Forum stories??
Thanks for the cookies sis.
Yummy Janet - thanks!
Glad you decided to share your cookies over here with us, Janet. With all the chattin' that happens here, people work up a real appetite and those cookies look awesome!
Thanks to Google, there's a never-ending supply! :-) Glad you all are enjoying them.
Janet
Janet - delicious looking cookies. My DD#1 and I have been doing some Christmas baking this year. They look almost as good as your's but I be they don't taste as good - our's are gluten - free!! (they are usually dry and kinda crumbly, but a decent substitute) My mouth is watering for your chocolate chip cookies. I'm glad you are enjoying the Northeast forum - my lack of memory for where I had met you turned out to be a very positive mistake!! So glad you've joined us!! Eleanor
Janet - now Google knows you like them so it's added to your 'profile'!! Maybe you'll get a visit from a little Keebler elf!
HAHAHA Victor, that would be just fine with me. Only these came from some exclusive bakery. I was looking for the most gooeyiest, melt in yoru mouth cookies I could find. I thought those fit that bill rather well.
Oh yes! They do!
And, may I add that I am so glad you added 'us' to your Forum Favorites!!
Thanks Candyce! I'm happy to be here.
I got to thinking about this:
Janet - now Google knows you like them so it's added to your 'profile'!!
Does this mean that my "profile" is bigger than it really is??? Good Lord! Here I am trying to lose some weight and google is adding it back on. No more googling for cookies for me! :-) And here I thought that cyber cookies were fat free! Humpmpt!
Janet
Hee hee!
Oh, Janet! You are sooooo funny!
I feel so behind the "eight ball" again...
This is my story and I'm sticking to it.
I google everything: Recipes, dog breeders, parrot breeders, cat breeders, aviaries, vacation things, words I don't know the meaning of and I'm to lazy to check the dictionary, plants, nurseries, mail order, catalogs, and funny things...
I google, and google, and google.
I, like Victor, would research plants, trees, and shrubs, and this Daves Garden thing kept popping up. I was like, "WHO THE HECK IS DAVE, AND WHY IS HIS FLIPPING GARDEN COMING UP, AGAIN?" I really, really edited that...I used a wee bit more colorful language.
I was researching newer variety of daylilies and hostas, of course...Hosta 'Oil on Canvus' and Thorough Bred Daylilies. Sometimes I would hit the Hosta Library, hostalibrary.org...and just skim through their pages of pics on hostas...then one day, out of the blue...I clicked on Hosta 'Lakeside Mom' and a Daves Garden thing popped up with a list of pics.
I clicked. I was hooked. I stopped using google. At first I couldn't trade anything, or couldn't figure out how to...then someone, a complete stranger, assisted me. I completed my first trade, some of my daylily divisions, for some heirloom gladiolas. I am not a fan of glads, but, I love trading my plants, for other things. I hate throwing my plant kids out.
More research into Daves Garden, at first I thought the 19.99 was a scam, then I saw the benefits, and Paul insisted I sign up...he was sick of me throwing the idea back and forth as to whether or not I should join, and join I did.
Then I stumbled across the NE Forum, and was like, OMG, there are other crazy garden obsessed people out there, beside myself and a few select friends of mine in the area. THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE...I was aghast.
Then the coolest thing ever happened...the RU at Logee's...I am so waiting for the next one.
I love all garden people, I love sharing stories about gardening, or making ones up to embellish ones that may not seem so exciting. I love swapping plants, and seeds. I love talking bulbs, corms, rhizomes, roots, shoots, leaves, colors, flowers, and fruits. I love it all!
So...did I leave anything out?

I came to DG through the plant files and found the NE Forum. I love my cats but sometimes I just need to communicate with someone whose end goal is not for me to get them something out of the treat jar! I think of the NE Forum as a family I chose.
I don't get treats then? I already ate all my cookies from yesterday.
Take any good pictures today?
Great story, Thom. I too, kept cursing this annoying DG that kept coming up. I left that part out of my original post! I even came up with a few nicknames for it. One I can print is 'Dave's Google', since he seemed to get the prime results all the time.
I concur. (I'm working on my vocabulary.)
Looks like most UFO shots!
To me it looks like planets getting ready to collide.
(Thanks, AYC!)

Plants or planets?
Or golf balls. I see dimples on them.
I wasn't abducted this time - darn!
Splendiferous on your vocabulary YC.
Al - 85% of my shots look like that!! (and they aren't shots of planes landing either) Eleanor
Victor's mind is an unusual combination of steel trap and tremendous absurdity. I can't put it one word. Maybe duality. What do you think Victor?
Maybe something Seussian??
Your mind on a boat?
With a goat?
Leave her out of it!
Have I told you guys lately just how much I love you?
Al: Great photo
AYC: Great vocab
Victor: always Victor. I love 'Seussian'.
Eleanor: my photos, too. I actually got my camera book out yesterday to see how I could improve my photo taking abilities.
Dave47: Glad to see you posting more. Sorry that something as mundane as a job is keeping you away from us.
Thom: Absolutely hands-down the very best 'How I found DG' story! I especially got a chuckle about Paul's comment.
Victor!!!
Santa is not going to fill your stocking with any goodies!
Drats!!
Victor, good thing you live in the US, in Austria , St. Nicololas would fill your boots with coals instead of cookies and chocolates, lol
Maria, with the cost of heating, I'd take it!!
Ha Ha, Victor, that is how my parents heated the apartment, one little stove, no heat in the bedroom, remember putiing my two forfingers on the window to melt the ice so I could see out. Did not even have any coals that last winter of the war, talk about being cold. Here it is 13' right now but at least the house is warm
Being cold is one awful feeling!
I don't want to move there - just want their weather from Nov - March!
I'd settle for 50 degrees all winter. At least we could do something outside.
