Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - User's Guide

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Can't believe we can't kill this thing!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I know. Can't say I haven't gotten this thread off track by getting it on track.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's the Loosestrife of threads.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I wondered if anyone was ever going to post on it at all.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

hi guys - sorry i'm late!
Tuve que terminar la tarea para mi clase español que es mañana.
Lo siento. Sé que algunas personas están molestado cuando escribo en español.
Estoy terminado.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I was still stuck on the other thread!! Good morning to all - no humor or ....... rambling here this morning!! (to lazy to go back and see how to spell the "s" word) Eleanor

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning, Eleanor.

I, for one, don't think this thread should 'die'. It's the one I visit first, most days, just to get my day started with a smile!!

How does everyone else feel about this thread?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

There's nothing 'wrong' with it Candyce. It's just that it has become something totally different than what it started out as. It's pretty much the same as Water Cooler now. But that's okay too. We aim to please!

North Augusta, ON

if you pull it, would it unravel?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not mine.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

If you're not standing in the corner please do so right now!

What a beautiful calendar. Nice to see some NE people represented there. Eleanor

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the link Pirl!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - that was quick!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

looks very well done also

North Augusta, ON

A bit pricey, or is it just me being cheap?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think $15 would have been a good price.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I didn't notice the price

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Very nice, but a bit pricey.....how much is shipping on top of the price? I didn't get that far. Thanks for that link, Arlene!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

expensive to me too...
but it looks nice.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Do you think it'll be cut by 50% the day after New Year's? That's when I usually buy my calendars.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like buying the previous year's calender. Less uncertainty about what each date brings.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

I like to leave my clocks alone all year instead of resetting them for the time changes. They're always on daylight saving time, and they give me pleasant surprises all winter. Every time I think I'm late for something, I remember I still have that extra hour.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like that! I always say we should have two hours ahead in the warm months, one hour in the cool ones.

North Augusta, ON

I do that too, leave the clocks alone---only problem is when the time changes and they are right, I'm still adding that hour and end up being late!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i set my clocks varying degrees of ahead, so i'll always be afraid of being late and GET moving! mostly it works. but my cell phone sets itself. sigh.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Leap Year makes me ill. Takes about four years to recover.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I went to school with someone born on leap year(Feb.29), he's dead now - coincidence?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My father's cousin was also born on that date.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Who doesn't wear a watch, ever, besides me?

I like to feel the time, so don't ever count on me.

But using a calendar from the wrong year is really stepping out of the box.

Victorgardener, I could say meet me at three on Dec 2, which is a Sunday and I would show up at 4 and you would have shown up the previous day on a Sat. at 3. Random living. I like it. But it is sort of like liking Loose-strife, but knowing it is a bad enjoyment. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Who needs predictability, Patti. And please, call me Victor!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

That is predictable, how about Rivtoc? Patti

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Ha, Ha, Ha,... I gotta laugh...Let me get my umbrella before the gargoyles from Notre Dame do a fly-by...LOL!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

JD: no sé "oprima." algunas personas aquí no se sienten felices el mes pasada cuando escribí en español. Pero siempre estoy buscando una persona para practicar español conmigo.
i have a test on esto miércoles on conditional, subjunctive, and my nemesis: OBJECT PRONOUNS (direct and indirect).
but i'd better stick to english here!
: )

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I had a photo on the calendar but it was me twenty years in the future. It's good to know I'll get better.

oda ouya owkna istha anguagela?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Patti - neither DH nor I have worn a watch since we retired.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Watches are an endangered species in the cell phone age.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Dave, I think anyone who has kids knows that language!
