help in identifying this plant

hmmm, not sure but it looks like a Mahonia or Oregon Grape, which is an outdoor plant. never seen it grown as a house plant. they boom and produce small grape like fruit. I'm told the fruit is edible, but I've never eaten it. People mostly make jams with it I believe.

Here is more info on the plant: My friend cut a small piece of his plant to create this one for me- It grew fast. The leaves are in clumps of only 3. There is a pinkish fuzz (hairy) on the stems and under the leaves; leaves are very thin; actually looks like a glitter on the leaves; is a trailing plant. The adult size plant was spread out in the office- like a vine or trailing plant? here is another pic of it>

It doesn't really look like Mahonia to me, the leaf arrangement doesn't seem quite right. Mahonias have thick leathery leaves so if these are thin that would suggest it's not it too. It does look more like an outdoor plant to me rather than a houseplant (might be one that you'd need to overwinter indoors depending on the hardiness, but it doesn't look like one of the common houseplants.) You might try posting on the Plant ID forum instead, one of the experts over there will know what it is I'm sure.

you're right... now that you've described it a bit more, I don't think it's mahonia.
Some kind of hybrid ivy?

Your welcome! I love the Cissus' . The more you ignore them the better they do! Not plants to be fussed over

Otterville, ON(Zone 5b)

It looks like the vigina creeper to me.( boston ivy).

(Zone 1)

It looks like a Cissus - Grape Ivy to me also. I've had a hanging basket of this plant for probably 7 or 8 years and it's not looking too great right now. I really need to repot it.

Here's the link to Plant Files for your plant:

Virgina Creeper and Boston Ivy are related- They're Parthenocissus
