New to using this item to treat plants... I have seen posts in many different forums about use of Bayer Tree and Shrub.
This magic potion apparently works well on mealies and many other plant pests. The acceptable mixture seems to be 2 Tbsp per gallon of water. Treating all plants with this twice a year in the normal course of watering...
The smallest container I can find is 32 oz. Using this light a dose and only twice a year, even with all my plants makes me wonder if this would not be more than a lifetime supply.
My question is this... what storage shelf like does this product have? By any chance does Bayer package in smaller containers? My research has found no info on either. TIA ~ pod
Bayer Tree & Shrub info?
With products like that which are registered with the EPA, if they don't have a shelf life of at least a year then they need to put an expiration date on the package. So if there's no expiration date, then you can assume it's good for at least a year. And with the way most of these products are, it's not like they're good one day and completely bad the next, what usually happens is the concentration of the active drops gradually over time, so I'm sure even after 2 years there's probably a reasonable amount of active ingredient left, just maybe not quite as much as what they tell you on the label. I probably wouldn't use stuff that was 5 or 10 years old, but I'd guess you could use it for a couple years without a problem.
That makes sense. Any idea of a proper storage temperature?
I'd check the package first and see if they say anything on there. If not, then your best bet would be room temperature or a bit cooler. Heat usually speeds up degradation, but you don't want to let it freeze either, that would also probably be bad for it.
