Thank you Elaine. I will d-mail you soon as I see what happens here:)) Lucky ME!!!!!
Elaine, you went to visit Lucy?!!! I want to go. I don't ever get to go anywhere. Pout Pout whine whine.
Deborah, You are too funny. Lucy lives in my hometown (Wauchula) We are down for Thanksgiving. Lucy sure has some beautiful flowers... she causes serious zone envy (along with my Mom) LOL
Elaine
LOL, You passed my house getting to hers and your mom's. Be sure to honk your horn on your next trip down. I can see and hear I-75 from my sunroom. I'm behind the pasture between the first and second exits.
Elaine... I had a blast today. ****** for the plants. : )
We forgot to get you a mexican sunflower. I will get one to you.
And, TexasPuddyPrint (Cat) told me tonight that those mexican Flame vine seeds had a very poor germination rate. I will get you some cuttings. I know they root in water in about a week and a half because I rooted one in my kitchen last month. It wasn't even close to a window.
Anything else we forgot? My brain was dead on plant names today.
Oh, and those 2 little plants (in the bowl) that everyone thought were daylilies were Crocosmia, that I finally got to come up from seed. The other thing I couldn't think of was a necklace pod.(small plant on the 1st table, right side)
And tell your mom that the Larkspur was a Rocket Larkspur.
I felt like a honorary extra sister today. Enjoyed the visit, ALOT.
~Lucy
Deborah, we are going home Monday. will honk around 2 or 3..
Lucy, thanks for the info. will pass along. What was the small orange flowered plant in/near your wildflower garden. The flowers were little bud-like flowers. I would love a cutting of the Flame Vine. I'll try to come by before we leave on Monday. Will call you.
Elaine
Brug cuttings are heading out to Kristi in the morning. She should recieve them no later than Saturday I pray and get them on the way to you all on Monday. Svplantingfool and Posyblossom I send D-mails requesting that you please get your postage money out in the morning to Kristi. I have cuttings for you both too. You can not squeese a air bubble into that box it is so full. You all are recieveing 6 varieties.
Day Dreams=DD - double pink
Tiara- double white
Miss Emily Mc Kenzie=MEM - huge dark pink flower
Mountain Magic=MM - darkest pink there is to date
Vixen- orangish pink- very nice
Forever Morr= FEM - nice strong pink
Hope you love them as much as I do. I recommend potting them up in not to big a pot. Water them in well, keep warm, and in bright light. Then only water them when they need it and only lightly. Remember This is winter and plants aren't actively growing and will rot if kept to wet. I wish you all much luck
Donna and Kristi, you are most generous for taking the time and effort to share these beatiful Brugs.
Kristi, check is going in th mail this morning!
Lucille, can you believe our good fortune?!!!
Thank you again, Cathy
Donna, this was very thoughtful of you, thank you.
I have 1 brug that has been growing outside for about 5 years, dont know anything about it except it smells great and always looks beautiful.
Could you give us a few more details about the potting up. How big of a pot is not too big? What kind of soil. I dont have much inside bright light, how much is enough? I do have a light set-up for cuttings and seeds, but I dont know if these will fit on the shelf, how tall are the cuttings? After we plant them outside in spring, How big do you think they will get in there first year?
Thanks again for your gift and info.
Chris
Thank You Donna and Kristi. I will mail the postage as soon as I have an address for Kristy.Would it be OK to send a personal check or I can get a money order at the post office this morning and mail it right out.
I am going to devote the whole westside lawn to Brugs and DG seeds. It should look spectacular and I will post pics next spring and summer. YAHOO!!!!
Cathy, I can't get over any of this.Brugs are so high priced in our neck of the woods. I haven't been this excited in years!!!!! I really never thought I'd have one, let alone a variety. All I can keep saying is thank you, thank you but that does not even begin to convey how I feel. Whoopie might be close:)))
If you are looking for me today, I am out hanging around the mailbox;>)
Lu
Lucille, if you go to the DG Home page, click on Extras right below the tabs, you should see the address exchange. You have to add yours to enter it. Kristi's address is there under Knolan. I muddled my way through it this morning.
Bringing the envelope to the Post Office this morning!
Double Whoopie!
Cathy
I sincerely wish for a tradition of caring and giving will be carried on, I'll try to do my part. Thanks again, Donna, and Kristi.
Kim from Alabama.
Thanks Cathy. You saved me from half the muddle. If you hadn't pointed the way, I'd still be trying to find an address. Once you know how,it's not too difficult.
Money order is on the way Kristi. I hope it gets there sooner than the bubble envies to Becky. The first one I sent her took awhile, well over a week, maybe two. Let me know and if it doesn't come, I'll try,try again.
Thanks,
Lu
Kristi, I went to the post office at lunch and put a check in the mail to you!

Potting instruction for the cuttings.
If you get a good woody cutting you can try water rooting. Not recommended for green cuttings. Place cuttings in about 3" of water and change it every couple of days. keep warm and in bright light. If it starts getting mushy take it out of the water and cut off the mushy part a little above where it starts and pot up in potting soil.
Potting soil
Pot up about 3 to 4 " deep and deeply water it in. The only water when it needs it and only lightly. Keep in bright light and warm. The plastic Dixie cups work great for this unless you have some tall narrow pots like for tree seedlings. A pot to big will keep the soil to wet for to long and in winter wet = rot. Make sure to put good drain holes in the cup and don't let it sit in water. It is really not hard to do.
Thanks Donna. I printed the instructions out to refer to.
Donna, I have one rooting in water. It has a bunch of white root spots and one root about an inch long. When do I pot it? Now, or wait for a few more roots to extend.
~Lucy
you can pot it or keep it rooting in water all winter. You choice
Thank you, Donna. It was really fast getting those roots. Can't wait to get the ones you gave us. : ) My new GH is suppose to be here this week or next, so I can get an early start with them. : )
~Lucy
Hi,, Lucy those Brug babies will keep right on growing in water and put on lots of roots. It is just a joy to watch them. Just change the water every other day or so. You can put a little peroxide in too. I think maybe it helps to get those roots growing faster in water, then pot up. I know you will enjoy that new greenhouse. Mine is full now with all those new plants. I can't wait for spring now. LOL This is picture of Tequilla Sunrise. It smells wonderful
Elaine
Oh my, Elaine. That is so pretty. : ) Sure was good to see you, again. I'm glad you made it back safely. I was thinking about you, and saw all the rain that was ahead of you on your way home. I hope you got a little at your house.
I got the rose repotted till it gets a tad bigger, and the pokers have perked up. Hope you get to come back again soon.
~Lucy

Thanks Kristi, you are super terrific!
Cathy
Thank you, Kristi, I appreciate all the time you've put in packaging and the trip to the p/o. Thank you, once again.
Kim
Thanks, Kristi. Happy Holidays to you, and Donna. : )
~Lucy
Happy Holidays to you all too. I hope you all have great success rooting them :-)
Hey Donna we made it home and all the cuttings are in water awaiting their new place in my Oasis. I can't tell you how much Mary & I enjoyed visiting with you, touring your garden and how thankful I am of your generosity. Thank you my friend and I hope we didn't wear you out by staying too long. Take care and I'll talk to you latter.
Jeri
Jeri I loved meeting you and Mary too. I love meeting other DG'rs especially when we are so close and can get together occassionally
Donna,
Meeting fellow gardeners and friends via DG is one of the most joy that I've had. Last Sept. Jeri held a RU at her home in La. It was my first outing to meet others friends from surrounding states. We had the most wonderful time. And Jeri is the best hostess I knew.
Thank you, for sharing with us. I hope to meet you eventually in the near future.
Kim (from Alabama).
Kim I always have a extra bed if you are ever down this way
I'd like that very much. I would love to visit sometimes. Best wishes for the Holidays, Donna, Christi and to everyone of my DGers fellow gardeners I haven't yet meet.
Kim
Thanks Kristi, I'll be watching. We have had a dip in temp. yesterday, snow and ice too. I hope the Brugs won't catch a bad cold getting here;))))
Lucille,
Please keep us posted as to how the brugs turn out. I'll share info. on mine as well. Stay warm.
Kim
Thanks Kim.
It will be fun to post how the Brugs will do and hear how yours are doing. I am hoping the other winners will post too. It adds to the interest because all were "Prize Brugs."
LU
Kristi, got my package today! Yay! They are all taken care of and tucked in safely for the night! They arrived in beautiful condition.
Thank you for taking the time to do this, it is much appreciated.
Donna, thank you for your overwhelming generosity! I have to go wander through the Brugs in the PlantFiles and look at the pictures, too bad they don't have scratch and sniff.
I can't wait for them to start growing, I will be so proud to post pictures come spring!
Cathy
I hope my prize Brugs aren't freezing to death, languishing somewhere in Postal Limbo!☻▬☺Winter has arrived ahead of the Solstice this year in PA. Temp in the teens are not the norm for us this time of year.
I am happy for you Cathy, yours are safe and warm♥
Ooooh, that cold? Brrrrrrrr, Lucille stay warm and be safe.
Oh goodness Lucille, I hope yours arrive tomorrow. Sending good postal thoughts to your bruggy babies...
I'm off to Indiana tomorrow for 5 days to visit family. Probably going to freeze my butt off, I am such a sissy from living in FL for 16 years.
Thinking warm thoughts, Cathy
