I've got a Ric Rac Cactus also! I've had this plant for about 7 or 8 years and I've never seen it bloom. It might help if I took better care of it and fed it once in awhile and watered it more! It's hanging in a tree in the backyard and gets ignored, poor plant!

plantladylin - your Ric Rac cactus doesn't look ignored to me. I love plants you rarely see and this is definately on of them. My grandma had one of these and she referred to it as a fish bone cactus. She was able to get it to bloom every once in awhile. I don't remember it being on any kind of a regular basis. Sure wish I had an interest in plants back then. She had all kinds of plants I never see anymore. I guess you're able to keep it outside year round?

Growgirl59: This plant has a few common names: Ric Rac Orchid Cactus, Fishbone Cactus and St. Anthony's Rick Rack! It seems to thrive on neglect but I would love to see blooms so will begin to feed it and see if I can get some of those Beautiful flowers! This stays outside most of the time. If we are predicted to have an extremely cold night with frost I will bring it in to my covered deck with a lot of other plants and cover them with old blankets! The only thing I don't like about this plant is the thorns!
