ID if possible

I found some seed pods and don't know what they are. They were on a very tall bush that has about 4" long leaves. The pods are 5" long and range in color from green to rust. There are no flowers left on the bush to describe to you. I can't post a picture, as I don't have a camera yet. Thought maybe some of you could help in trying to id these. If you can thankyou, if not I'll plant them anyway. maybe it will be a beautiful surprise!

Can you give us a little bit more info about the plant since you don't have a pic? What shape are the leaves and pods? When you open the seed pod what do the actual seeds look like? Does the plant resemble anything you are familiar with? How tall is "very tall"?

The only thing that comes to mind at first is butterfly weed (Asclepias spp.)... http://www.robsplants.com/images/portrait/AsclepiasTuberosa040813.jpg

that is pretty much what it looks like! the plant that these came from is probably around 8' tall and just as wide. the leaves are elongated and narrow. when i cut the pod open there are fuzzy seeds inside, down the center of the pod.

Also, the pods grow 3-4 at the end of the branch.

So then, did it look anything like the Asclepias I linked to? Or anything like these? http://web.vet.cornell.edu/CVM/HANDOUTS/plants/Asclepias%20pods%20Oct01.jpg
