well, I keep thinking of how great our NE forum is... and there are some other people I would love to see them here in our threads... Great people that I have personally met and I would love for you guys to meet ... so I was thinking of why don't I tell you guys about them, and if you feel like telling me about the other great people you have met on other foruns that never come here... please let me know... I will dmail them and ask them to come... and feel free to dmail my good friends and call them here...
Ok, I will start of course!!!!
well most of you know Zuzu... very seldon she shows up here but Zuzu is one of the most generous people I have met, she is so in love with roses that she will buy some roses nobody else would so other people have a chance to see the rose and admire it's beauty... She has 15 lovely cats... and they are so cute... and love and miss them so much... she is pretty smart woman but is not a show off... she is very unique and original... and really a fun person to know... and yes, she was so patient and answered all my million questions about roses...
Kell - what can I say about Kell??? she is such a nice and enthusiastic person... in love with beauty... is very generous and the type of person you want on your side... she is upbeat and very much in love with roses... well she loves other plants too... and she takes awsome pics... I love Kell... she makes me laugh and there is no way someone will be sad next to her... I told her today that she should hang here with us... and meet all of you guys... she is a riot!
Steph_gem... she is a very wonderful person... a rose lover... and she is layed back but she even shows her roses... so in love with mini roses... I met Steph last May in San Diego... she has a gorgeous garden ... and such a nice dog Higgins... an English Bulldog... You guys would love Steph.. she has a very sweet voice... and she is so wonderful... love that woman!
Cottage Rose : I love this wonderful woman... she is another rose lover... her roses are absolutly gorgeous... tons of pink and David Austins... she is also very sweet and very funny... she has gorgeous and fluffy sebastopol geese... oh they are such cute creatures... I have spoken to her on the phone and oh I wish she lived closer so I could just drive and go and see her...
Cal_Sue - Sue the best looking grandmother I have ever seen... the woman is so pretty and so nice... loves to take pics and has taken gorgeous ones... she is a rose lover (well, when you are close friends with Zuzu and Kell you have no chance not to like it... lol....) and is very creative... very warm and inteligent woman with a great sense of humor. I hope she shows up here too...
JasperDale : oh Mike is so much fun... I met him at the RU in San Diego... has a great sense of humor and would fit right in with Dave, Al and Victor... really fun to be around...
ok... now is your turn... I will be back with others....
Some good friends from other forums...
Kassia:
I know what you mean. I have met so many great people from some of the other forums and have often wished that they would post on our forum more often.
Well Kassia I have met many people here on DG. I can think of one who D-mails when a certain Hybridizer puts her new ones out. We were also secret santa's to each other last year during a daylily Christmas exchange. Sybiltwo and I both love 'Westbourne" series of daylilies and have approx. the same growing zone. She has over 40 different Westbournes already.....I think I have 4. She's my hero! LOL
Here is the link to the newest one's if you'd like to see what it is we like.

I have a buddy Doss whom I met on a thread in the Accessible Gardening Forum. She lives in northern California and has lovely shade gardens, daylilies and hostas. She has wonderfully labeled plants - just the right amount of information without taking over the landscape, you know? It is a question I often wonder about - how to label things so other people will know what's what, without having a garden of labels. xx, Carrie
Celeste my friend, they are gorgeous!!!!! wow!!! the price tag is horrible!!! lol!!!
LOL Kassia! The price is crazy, won't be buying one of those. Those are just her 2008 Intro's, I buy the 2005 and 2006 , and my pocket book doesn't say "Ouch!" that way!
Well, there is one I really want... so whenever they came down in price tell me... I am begining to think that between every rose bush I have I need a daylilly and a purple sage!!!
Nice combo...nothing wrong with that!
Wasn't Purple Sage a Hendrix tune??
Ah no, it was Purple Haze but your close.
Joking, Celeste!
ok, who do you guys like on the other foruns!!!!
Not sure I want to name names - in case it's not reciprocal.LOL
I have some friends in the Upper Midwest and Dahlias forums.
Riders of the Purple Sage is the first Zane Grey book, I think. (haven't read it.)
x, Carrie
Also a Southern Rock band.
I don't get out much (Outside this forum) especially these days. But I would agree with Kass about Zuzu and Kell. They were great when I was trying to learn about non-hybrid teas.
Notmartha is very friendly and I can't believe her cottage gardens.
Soferdig is always ready to answer anyone's questions on compost.
That Bigcityal guy is a hoot and very generous & helpful
But I've never seen a forum where people extend themselves as much as on this one
Ooh sorry - was it showing?!!
Victor!!!!!!!
Dave:
Did you just set Victor up on purpose?
I don't think so Candyce.
There are other forums?
Good one Deb!
Candyce, It would be a breach of our code to intentionally lob a softball to each other.
Oh, of course, Dave. Of course.
How silly of me to assume otherwise.
Have I shown you a photo of the bridge I just purchased???
Well, Kass and I have a lot of the same friends on the Rose forum, so of course I would mention all the folks that she did above and some others from Roses that have been great...Repeat_Bloomer, Eglantyne and Hortensia. From Hummingbird and Butterfly Gardening, debnes_dfw_tx has been wonderful in helping me get started, giving me advice, seeds and encouragement. I get a kick out of bigcityal in Upper Midwest, too :-P
Candyce, show us your bridge! I purchased a small 4-1/2' one from The Mill Store this summer, and I'm still painting it. It's not put together, and it took me ages to prime it. I've determined that I HAVE to finish painting this week while the temperatures are in the 50's.
Dave 47, I agree that Soferdig on the Soil and Compost forum is always ready to help--he's absolutely passionate about dirt and he's taught me a lot.
And Carrie, I agree that Doss is a wonderful resource. I know her from the Japanese Maple forum, where she often posts photos of her inspirational gardens near Palo Alto, CA. In fact, there are lots of good folks on the JM forum. . . including some guy named. . . oh, what is it? Starts with a "V". . . that's it; "Victor -something.
Shhh! Emily, don't want them to know I frequent other Forums!
I'll never tell, Victor.
Hey! Did I hear people whispering?
Using virtual hand signals. Want one Dave?
Sounds like an Italian thing.
American sign language or Italian-American sign language?
Looks like one too.
I didn't see nothin here.
That's what we like to hear.
As long as you're not biting a knuckle, I can cope.
Al, = You have to read between the lines.
Al, you can be an honorary Italian, anyway. When people ask where you live, you can reply, 'Upper U.S.'
I had spaghetti for supper - is that a start?
Depends - homemade sauce or out of a jar?
