I planted some rather pricey poppies early this spring that promptly died. Since they're perennials, any chance they are coming back next year, or do they need to flower in order to do that?
Poppies that died before flowering
Perennials will come back every year regardless of whether they flowered the year before or not. But if your plants died in the spring, then they won't come back, dead is dead unfortunately.
Can you remember the name of the poppy you planted, what zone your in and what way you planted them, your soil type etc, that would help a bit to help you get it right the next time, it is always sad when your plants are a disappointment, but poppy's are normally easy to grow, so will try help if you give a bit more info, WeeNel.
