I have dwarf blueberry plant that has done very well this summer. I am wondering how to prepare it for the cold winter here in the Rocky Mountains. (Grand Tetons) It is in a portable pot and can be moved but I really need to know how to winterize it.
Dwarf Blueberry Plants
if possible, take it in doors and care for it as in water etc, less water though as it will be going into it's dormant season, keep in a cool area away from any heating, if you cant have it indoors, then wrap bubble wrap around the pot to keep frost away from the roots if you get heavy frost that could freeze the soil, also, around the top growth of the plant you can either cover it with a horticultural fleece you can buy at the garden center, it's very light and white as light as a spiders web, comes in sizes from a few metres etc, it allows light into the branches and air, this will protect the plant top through the worst of the winter weather, good luck.
