Plant Idenity, please????

I have a plant in the ground and established; the base is like a palm (layers and all) but the leaves are like a bromelaid? Not as dark a bit lighter? Some are sick and others are great so I want to help them. Area Hempstead, TX 8b? Thanks

Any chance you could post a picture? You might also try posting it in the Plant ID forum (a picture would help there as well) http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/plantid/all/

If you can't get a picture, it would help to know which palm and which bromeliad it resembles--there are lots of different ones of both of those!
