Shredding kitchen scrips for compost

Riverton, UT

Can someone suggest a tool - a mulcher or shredder - that can be used not only for twigs, leaves, and grass clippings, but also for shredding kitchen scraps such as fruit and vegetable leftovers, skins, husks, rinds, etc? I have looked at quite a few mulchers and shredders, but they never mention these things one way or another.

Kitchen scraps can be added tot he compost pile as they are.
You can use a kitchen knife to cut large items such a melon rinds etc.

Other frruit/veggie scraps can be thrown in just as they are.

Twigs take a long time to break down.
If you don't have a chipper you can run over leaves with a lawn mower before adding them.
The key to speedy composting is the correct green/brown mixture and turn the pile often.

Unless you use restaurant's quantity of fruit and veg scraps, a proper garden shredder would be worth while, however, I sometimes put mine into my kitchen food processor and use the blade for say chips (french fries) or slicing veg, but dont use the blades that will turn it into pulp or juice as this will be too liquid and end up spoiling your compost pile,
I use it for things like the hard vein/hearts of cabbage, but things like Mellon, orange etc, I normally just tear that with my hands on the way to my compost box or chop through it with the sharp knife while still in the kitchen, I dont really know of any tool for that specific purpose as I said, most households dont have the amount to qualify for a manufactured tool, but hey, design one and you could be on to a winner if there is a demand for it, surely that's why we have garden sheds and garages full of garden implements that after a while we never use again, good luck, I will watch this space for your design.
