I bought two thornless honey locust trees from Arbor day org because the leaves are so tiny they just disappear.
Now I guess I have to look forward to catkins? It will be a while anyway as they are now just about five feet tall.
You might be able to trade the seeds on the seed trading forum or the tree and shrub forum for something you can use.
Are the seed pods huge? I am just trying to figure out what my trees will do when they are mature.
I have them on the side yard which is the neighbors backyard.
What I don't like is when the neighbor pays kids to mow their lawn and they swipe into my yard making my yard look uneven since I don't mow my yard the same length as they do.
I thought about planting some shrubs, but the kids would probably mow them down. LOL
Is there any type of preemergent that you can spray into your flower beds to cut down the germination of the tree seeds?
Inconsiderate neighbor
The catkins are not so bad. The seedpods get anywhere from 6 inches to 1 1/2 feet long. And loaded with seeds. His tree drops about 100 of those things and maybe more.
