I've had this pretty little "bamboo"/dracaena for around 4 years. The first 2, it was in a spot with not enough sun to help it grow, although it stayed alive and pretty. Since moving to a different location, in 2 more years it has grown way too tall for its container - which is just a vase with marbles and water in it.
Can anyone let me know what to do now? Can it be pruned and the cutting rooted or planted? Or what? - - Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Shirley
Dracaena (oops! I thought it was a "bamboo!") Need help....
Hi Shirley: That's a really neat looking Dracaena you've got there. I love the way it's growing. Yes, you can prune it back and root the cut pieces .... either in water or in soil. Here's the link to Plant Files with information regarding this plant:

yah pruning would be good consentrate the energy in new groth
My lucky bamboo has been growing like mad over the last two years. I was starting to wonder what I would do with it. Now that I see yours, I know I have a bit more waiting to do! I can't believe how tall yours is!
