Another of my favorite Coleus ... small leaf variety. Someone on DG ID'd it for me last year but I don't remember the name. One of these days I will search the thousands in PF again to find it.

Oh My Goodness .... I just noticed we are hijacking the Bingo Thread! Brenda is gonna shoot us! And anyone else who has dial up internet service ... I bet they are having a devil of a time since this thread is getting so long. Ok ... I won't post any more pic's here on this thread!
Sorry Brenda and Eveybody ... it's sooo easy to get carried away and off topic, isn't it?
We really should start a new thread somewhere for all these non gessie plants!
Oh ... I finally got one of the calls! I have #2 AV Shirl's Hawaiian Lei on my card and on my wish list too .... that's a pretty little AV!
I am so sorry... I was just having a good time... Blast it.. No more picture for me...
Pren/Girl, I may have gotten it mixed up it might be a scented Gerainium. My batteries are dead but it may have charged enough to take one picture...
I am very sorry once again...
Susan
You can't hijack the bingo thread!!! The bingo thread goes anywhere it wants to, so please stay and keep the posts and pictures coming!
Now I need to go read them all so I can get caught up on the fun.
I'm going to start new threads at 100 posts. I never heard back from anyone with dial up so that's what I've decided to do but I'm willing to change that if I hear it needs to be done sooner.

I finally have one of the calls too! OK now I am off and running..lol..I had to go check out what todays call of Jacos Jem looked like and ooooo I am "In Love" with that!!.I gotta find me one of those!
Susan,The sweetheart hoya you sent is still looking good. Now if I can just keep it that way thru the winter it should really take off in the spring!!
Goodness, sorry we got a little misdirected here Brenda *lol*
I tried Coleus once and it just got really leggy. It doesn't flower so to speak but the leaves are pretty. Not one of those "have to haves" for me I guess but I sure enjoy seeing all of yours :) Alot of people don't find crown of thorns very pretty either or Adeniums and I just love them *lol* Beauty is surely in the eye of the beholder isn't it? Aren't they like kids...each one so different and yet so special in their own way?
Just LOVE that strep on today's call :)
I had both of todays.
Ok Y'all ... this is gonna be it for me for awhile. Gotta get out of here and run some errands. This last pic has nothing to do with plants .... just thought I'd throw it in. This is what I've been doing the past month ... making and decorating Christmas Stockings for the Soldier's Angel's group. I've done 4 dozen so far .... gotta get to the fabric store for some more trim so I can finish up and get them all in the mail to California. Deadline for mailing is Oct 31 so they can fill them with goodies and mail them to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for the holidays!
Lin looks like a nice job you did for a great reason.
Now once these coleus root do I have to keep them under lights for the whole winter? Also the geranium?
Ok I have to put a roast in the oven and plant some more seeds and my coleus... Be back in awhile...
Thanks ladies I have had a wonderful morning just yacking and showing pictures... I needed this :-)
Susan
OK, so that just truly brought a tear to my eye Lin. You are SO SPECIAL! I can't believe you have been doing that! Wow, really choked up right now. That is SO FANTASTIC!! We need to bring them home and hug them all!
Thank you for doing such a wonderful thing for our troops...they are beautiful and I'm sure will be greatly loved!
I am not very crafty and have an old sewing machine that I can barely sew straight lines with but I joined the Soldier's Angel's group this summer to correspond with one of our young men or women in the military while they are away from home. My sister told me about this group - she got a young man who is from Texas and in the army stationed in Iraq. She sends him a package about once a month and writes letters too. The man I got is 36, a medic in the Air Force stationed in Afghanistan. He said he didn't need anything that they take good care of them on the base where he's stationed. We correspond through email and I did send him a package last month with a variety of cookies, crackers, snacks and stuff like that. I am going to bake cookies, brownies and breads to send to him and his buddies for the holidays. He said they would LOVE that ... home made goodies would be a great gift from home! Just have to wait for the weather to get cooler - they've been having temps of 120 degrees over there, so can't ship anything chocolate or anything that would melt in the heat. He's going to keep me posted on when the weather gets better so I can ship by Christmas!
It sure is a worthy cause ... the group was begun by a mother who's son was in Iraq.

They ask that you commit to sending a letter every few weeks. My first letter I gave him our home email address so that's how we've been corresponding ever since. Makes it easy!
Well, I must get out of here and get some things done. Y'all have a Wonderful day!
((((( Hugs to you all )))))
I went ahead and hit send on my above post. When I did a preview I got a message saying:
A reminder: DG is a family-friendly website, and we don't allow profanity or vulgarity. Please double-check your post to make certain that it is clear of any words or phrases (or political/religous debate) that might not be appropriate for young audiences. Also, intentionally misspelled or obfuscated words of profanity are extremely irritating to us.
I have read and re-read my post and can't find any vulgarity or profanity. Am I missing something here? Or is it maybe because I put in the link for the soldiers angel's group? Someone asked me for that link in another post a couple of weeks ago and I didn't get any message like this? I am real confused.
I would never say or do anything to offend anyone and I do not use profanity or vulgarity at any time in my real life or on line. I hope I haven't done anything wrong here in posting this.
edited for spelling

don't worry about it, sometimes the system picks up two words together....like when I'm on Yahoo...if I try to type " he has hit" it censors the last letter of "has" and the "hit" and thinks it's a swear word!!!!
I had to read the whole thread to see all these wonderful pics............packing all day...........good day to do it.............it is raining....................
I was packing up streps, etc....................
had to show this pic that is going Brenda's way............darn it..........i didn't want it to bloom until it got to her house.........
Oh HOW BEAUTIFUL! Brenda will LOVE it I'm sure :)
Oh yeah, Brenda is going to love it alright!!!! LOL I'm so glad I picked that strep from Gail!
Well we've hit the 100 post mark so I'll go make a second thread and come back here and post a link. What do you say we try for a new thread every day? I think we can hit a 100 posts a day don't you? LOL
