Hi,
I have recently planted some ajuga 'burgundy glow' and it is not fairing well. I also have ajuga 'siver beauty' and ajuga 'purple brocade' and they are doing great. They are in a mostly shady spot and get a couple hours of direct sun in the evening. The ground is fairly well drained. Is this just a tempermental cultivar? Just curious if anyone has any experience with this one...as I go search plant files...
Ajuga help
Was your weather still hot when you planted it? That can be stressful for plants, so you may just need to give it a little time to get established.
Weather was mild. I think it is too damp...according to plant files. Thanks!
If your soil is too damp and you want them to grow beside the other ones you have and good results with, add some fine grit to the planting soil as this will help with the drainage, most Ajuga's like a bit of shade, but some do like a bit more sun to keep the attractive colouration that the foliage has, so check out that too. mine actually grow across the bed and are growing well onto the gravel pathway that borders the bed. good luck. WeeNel.
