Let's be the one!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Really? Why?

We used to love Hills Brothers but it's no longer available.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

In reality, I love any brand that's under $6 for a 32-ounce can of grounds!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Folgers here, but I'm not too particular. What's better - chocolate flavored coffee or coffee flavored chocolate.

Upstate, NY(Zone 5a)

Chocolate covered coffee beans!! That's whats better! Yummy!! Dark Chocolate.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Wegman's brand espresso roast whole beans freshly ground each morning

and chocolate anything

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow you must be wide awake after that, Deb!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Addicted to Dunkin Donuts coffee, it's a bit pricey but like I said....im addicted!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

There's nothing like DD coffee, so I agree with you, Celeste. I get a one-pound bag for my birthday and then another one for Christmas. It's THAT special!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Candyce, My DH doctor's appt. is wwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyy up North and to my suprise they have a DD's. The last time we went up there the coffee was on sale 2/$9.99. I bought 2 on the way to the doctors a 2 on the way back. Came home w/4 bags for $20....going back up Oct. 10 and I hope they are on sale again!! LOL

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

good coffee is one of the nice things about coming home from vacation, and the espresso roast isn't that strong, I like Wegman's brand better than Starbucks, and it's 1/2 the cost

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Believe it or not, I've never had Starbucks coffee!! Smells burned to me and people have said that about it. Also, I'm not into trendy, overpriced things.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Starbucks can be bitter and too strong, both on the tongue and the wallet

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Taster's Choice! No waste!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I hate Starbucks! Like Victor said.....it smells and taste burnt!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Never had Starbucks. Probably never will, now.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I just go for the coffee grounds. lol

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Double D's are now sold in big bags at some stores(bj's, walmart etc) The only Starbucks I like are their lattes or iced mochachinos(sp?) lots of sugar and cream. Only way to drink it.
New England brand is real good. Gevalia is REALLY good.
I just read putting milk in tea takes out the "good" benefits.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Sorry I missed the whole three millionth thing, but WHAT DO YOU MEAN MILK IN TEA CANCELS THE BENEFITS? I think the NE forum IS chock full of nuts, or nut cases, and its is like his and hers, not a contraction. (Every 30 seconds now.) Unless it is a contraction. If you can replace it with "it is", it's a contraction. If you can replace it with "hers" (although it doesn't make sense) it's NOT a contraction, or, it IS not a contraction. But I didn't figure that out in school.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

You know how they say tea is really good for you but I just read that they just found if you put milk in it, it cancels out the good stuff, some kind of chemical reaction or something like that. So it wouldn't be worth even drinking it.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Unless you like the taste of tea with milk.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm still excited after reading that 'Double D's are now sold in big bags'!!!! I'm going shopping.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Victor!!!! He he he. They're too big. You'll get lost.

Or if you like the taste of tea without milk. I heard that it's the milk in the tea that makes tea stains impossible to remove.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I'd love to get lost like that. Please, no search parties.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Double D's - I've moved up to EE's, I think those are elephant ears ;)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You can have the ears, Al.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

too funny

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Victor! You know the rules here! No jokes referring to those types of hobbies! Just scrapbooking, knitting, oh, and gardening!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

you forgot soap making

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Oh yeah - soap making!.....you know you can make those into any shape - use your imagination.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I think we're back to double D's

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, of course there's candle-dipping, spice-alphabetizing, potpourri...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I agree about Starbucks. I don't get it. Expensive, bad coffee.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

yucky-poo!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Folks, I think we have a consensus about Starbucks coffee.......ick!

Pirl - Hills Bros. coffee is still available in Conn. and Mass in Stop and Shops - at least it was the last time I was in one of those stores. I'm now a Hannaford's store brand......tastes just fine to me! I do like Maxwell House and Folgers too, but I used to boycott Folgers for some good reason that I can no longer remember. Nothing like true commitment to a cause! LOL

I have heard that milk in either coffee or tea is what causes stains if you spill.

Now, this coffee/pill/vitamin clash is a concern. I take my vitamins with OJ and then a coffee chaser. No good???? What do you think???

I'm into latte and cappuchinos ever since I brought home a Braun Tassimo machine from work when I retired. Chai tea latte too.......yumm

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the tip on Hills. Next time we're in New England we'll make a point of looking for it.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Pirl, Hills Bro is still available here also..maybe I could mail you some? What kind do you drink? Dark Roast, Mild, Med., Perfect Balance(my favorite).

We'll probably be coming up! Not definite yet. Thanks for the offer, Pixie! I think we liked Perfect Balance, too!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Duh! My son works for a supermarket in CT. I'll have to ask him if his store carries it. Easy Christmas shopping for Mom's gift!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

My solution to the whole coffee dilemma is easy. I don't drink it (gasp!) I wanted to like it...I tried to like it...I don't like it. I don't like tea either. which leaves cocoa for a hot drink...yummm (but calorie laden, and I don't do 'artificial'). dang, now I need a cup of cocoa. later...

edit to add: I'm back. made a cup of Swiss Miss...with whip cream...and a chocolate chip cookie.
