Gazania, haven't collected the seeds - an annual

Gazanias spread underground so when the spread is wide enough you just dig a clump out and plant elsewhere.

Arizona Blanket Flower............says the tag I have in my garden. I have had it for 2 years now. I deadhead it and put the "heads" beside the orignal plant.......this is the 2nd year it has come back. Bigger than last year, don't know if deadheading has anything to do with it. I pluck off the dead flowers for the seeds......just place them near the plant.......This IS a beautiful plant, isn't it? As long as you deadhead it, the blooms keep comming.......

happiness--I think what you have is Gaillardia not Gazania which is what janemarierose has.

Also, if you're deadheading the plant, there probably aren't any seeds yet in those heads that you're putting next to the plant, the whole point of deadheading is to pull off the dead flowers before it can form seeds, otherwise once it makes seeds then it thinks its job is done for the year and it stops blooming.
