I have some Anne Greenaway(I think) dead nettle that has gotten very scraggly and leggy. I had read they do that and that if you trim them, it will help....I did, and it still didn't work. Is there some sort of fertilizer or something I could use to make them look better?
Thanks
Kristie
Scraggly looking Dead Nettle
When did you trim them? It may take a little while for new growth to show up. I don't know too much about when these plants do most of their growing, but if they have a big growth spurt in the spring and then you trim them later in the year, they may not fill in until next year's growth spurt.
yes give them some time they will be beautiful next year. I have several plants of this ground cover and really love the flowers you get on the plant. The fluffieness of the leaves. Are yours verigated? they are my favs. You are in the same zone as I am so give them some time.
I trimmed them awhile ago....yes, mine are the variegated and they are so pretty! And the flowers are pretty too.....I just trimmed maybe the top leaves here and there I'd say at least a month ago, probably much longer. I tried rooting the cuttings in other places some seemed to root...but now they're dead...we had a lot of hot days recently, I wonder if that's what killed them and if that's my my dead nettle is scraggly......
I can't wait until next spring to see how they look!
