Very pretty Emma!

This one is from you...can you identify?

Sandy,

that is AWESOME.
Your bloom is "TEMPEST"
This is the very first grow out I've seen of it.
I didn't grow them this year and they were amazing last year.
You should get different versions on your vines.
Not many will be the same but some will

Thanks Emma for trying to clarify some of my blooms. Between you and Ron, I will hopefully get them all IDed correctly or at least as close as possible.

Your Lavendar Chiffon above and my bloom does look very similar!!! Mine was shaded and looked more blue, but is was really a very pale lavendar color.

Sandy - NICE! Very, very nice! LOVE that color and pattern! Ooh .... I'd love to have a couple seeds if you want to do a trade later on! I really like your bloom a lot!

Mai Sugata

Is this supposed to be one word or two words?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Emma - I have to agree with you on the Lavendar Chiffon! Mine does look very much like yours! BEAUTIFUL blooms for sure!!!

And I like your nameless Henka Blue above. Boy! The Henka strain sure throws out some remarkable and unique blooms! What a great gene!

Couple of interesting blooms today on my Fujishibori

This bloom has a lot of Solid Purple

Thumbnail by EmmaGrace
Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

This bloom has almost RED DOTS
and not the Wisteria Color
Hard to tell in the photo, but I will tag this bloom and see how it grows out next year.

Thanks Becky,
Oh yes, the Henka Blue Type has given me some AMAZING blooms.

Solid Purple-Flaked Shibori growing on my Hige Vines
I've gotten several of these blooms and am curious if they will still throw Higes. . .
I am marking them all so I can keep the seeds separate from the Higes

Do you think they will Ron?

Thumbnail by EmmaGrace
Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Becky,
I can't wait to grow the Jamie Lynn Hige out again to see what they do.

Here are a couple of more photos just for you of LAVENDER CHIFFON in the sky *-*

Gorgeous Lavender Chiffon, Emma! I definitely underestimated how large these vines are going to get. One seed, one vine ....... incredibly HUGE!!! (Whew!)

(Judith) Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

I've never planted Tie Dyed, just seeds from you, Emma, SOH, Hattie Bell, Joyce Cobb, and Heavenly Blue. Here's another pic of the same unidentified blooms.

Thumbnail by revclaus
(Judith) Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

And here's another one. I can't tell if these are two separate vines.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Judith,

I just looked at the list of seeds I sent to you and this is nothing that could have come from anything I sent.
SO, you have a stray seed.
No telling what it could be, but I LOVE it.
Keep posting your blooms and maybe we can at least figure out what it came from.

Emma

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

Indianalilly - This purple kikyo is nice
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3951086
put a few seeds aside for me if you get enough as I don't think I have that color separated out yet...

Sandy - really like this one...x-mas list please...
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/Seedsower_1189266220_806.jpg

Emma - Mai Sugata is 2 separate words but whoever entered it in the PlantFiles has it with no separation between the words and it doesn't come up on ther search properly...

Your Fuji Shibori with the solid section looks like
Akatsuki no Murasaki
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/121131/
could be the purple that went into it...

or possibly like
Heian no Umi
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/91304/

Nice
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/EmmaGrace_1189267287_777.jpg

The higes can skip generations...

revclaus - regardless of what you planted >you got one now...and a nice one(!)...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3951271

Based on the throat color and the overall look I'd say they are(!) 2 separate vines
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3951282
...better tag at least some...

TTY,...

Ron

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Judith,
Also this could possibly be a seed from one of my Plum Frost -
or from one of the sports of Plum Frost.

More of your photos should tell what they are - or at least what they came from.

Emma

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the info Ron. . .

Judith
I agree with Ron.
Tag some of your blooms.
Also, looks to me like this is going to be a TOTALLY NEW MG.
And, Yes, it is VERY NICE!

Emma

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Oh Emma, your solid flakehttp://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3951234 does make a hige. I have one right here. I will tag it today for you..

Thanks Ronnie....
Very interesting what we are going to learn about these beautiful Higes.

Ronnie,
I really like your Purple Flaked A LOT
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3951379
and would love a few of your seeds.

Did they just show up for you, or did they come from anything I sent you?
Curious if a totally different strain.

Mine just showed up in my Purple-Flaked Shibori blooms year before last.

Emma

(Judith) Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Hmmm...my last post seems to have been lost.

Anyway, Ron and Emma, I tagged some of them and took more photos to identify sepals. I'd really like to grow these again next year. Thanks for all your help!

Here's another odd one.

Thumbnail by revclaus
Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

revclaus-Judith,

Nows a good time to start training your eye ala some sepal comparisons...

Do the sepals on the different colored blooms look exactly(?!) the same(?)...or is there some discernable difference(?)...

Clue us in when you're able...

TTY,...

Ron

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Will do, Ron. Need any more Ipomoea lacunosa seeds? I'll have some this year, but not as many as last year.

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

indiana_lily - I'm good on the lacunosas for now...but thanks for offering...

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Emma, love Lavendar Chiffon and Fujishibori. Jamie Lynn is a beauty too.

Sandy, Tempest is to die for, never seen anything like it.

Judith, Your unknown, multi colored bloom is drop dead gorgeous. Very special.

Ronnie, love the hige

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Emma the hige seeds were from a lavender feather I bought off ebay last year. Never got any flowers let alone feathers!! I had a few left over and this is what I got. I will definitely save you some seeds...
Here is one from this morning.

Thumbnail by luvsgrtdanes
Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Ronnie,

So, yours skipped a generation as Ron mentioned, now they are throwing the Higes.
Interesting isn't it!

I'm actually getting TWO kinds of the Solid Purple-Flaked this year that I will be keeping separated.
A very few that are coming off of my Hige vines, and the others are from the acutal Regular Purple-Flaked Shibori Blooms. These are still throwing the Solid Purple Flaked.

I'm starting to get a few Hige seeds so when I get your package out this week I'll send you what I have so far.

Ronnie . . .
When you take photos next =
Can you post your leaves from your AWESOME Dai JMG from Thread #21
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3913036
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3913036

I'm curious what the leaves are called and maybe Joseph or Arlan can ID those leaves.

Emma

Mesilla Park, NM

This is the first time I get any blooms from this one... Split Personality.. these are about the second week they flower.. the first week they did not split as much..
