During the past several weeks when watering, I saw a little garden snake (don't know what kind). I think this is a good thing to see providing a good environment, but I'm not positive. Any thoughts here?
garden snake
As long as it wasn't a rattler I'd take it as a good sign, to me anything that won't eat my plants but might eat the things that do is a good critter to have around!
Hello. Does your snake look like this?

Yep, it looks like that!
garter snakes are our friends, garter snakes are our friends.....
I'm trying to convince myself, lol
I've got a couple of mid-sized garter snakes in my organic/no chemical garden, too. there's also a batch of babies way out the back of the yard.....
Startles the tar out of me every time I come upon them, we both take off in opposite directions, lol....... but am getting used to them.....
garter snakes are our friends....
now, if I can encourage them to eat the mice setting up house in the greenhouse.....
LOL That's good! Yes...snakes are our friends. And the garter snake has never been known to kill or eat people. The ones I've seen in Utah are only a foot long. When I lived in Santa Ana, we saw bigger ones.
