corm leaves come up mid-autumn but no blooms??

College Park, MD

what is this??? my soil right now is extremely non fertile but these corms just keep propagating and propagating. i have lived here 5 years and my husband has lived 10. the garden was here before he arrived and he never did anything to it, he said the daffodils basically took over and he liked the way they looked. it was 2 years ago that i first noticed the 4 - 6 inch lance like leaves - green with a little white. i thought o'wow another flower yay! but it never bloomed and it still isn't blooming and i know ornamental grass does not propagate by corms. the only thing i have is a picture of the corm itself. i am new to gardening and discovered the soil might have been perfect 10 years ago but is now filled with grubs, spring tails, and i don't even have earthworms in there!! most of the bulbs the previous owner planted are now rotting and the roses are looking bleak. help me figure out this plant please!!!! I also have a picture of what the leaves look like http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/5858/crocusleafexamplenumberec3.jpg (ignore the bloom because mine have not bloomed) but those leaves look almost exactly like the leaves that have been popping up.
