Show of Pride for the NE Forum

North Augusta, ON

I think we should nominate grammyphoeb...she has the software to make the designs and seems to use it well!!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

vVctor, seniority and senility puts me right on the top, like to know who is older then I am, lol lol

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

.....or more senile

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Thanks threegardeners - but I'm right up there with senility! Senority I have in years (not as senior as some) but not senority as a subscriber. I've only been here since...? See, I can't even remember but it was in 2007 sometime - short term memory is gone. Does anyone want the responsibily??? Come on somebody step up cause I want another tee-shirt. Someone just needs to design it and then see how many want to buy it. Eleanor

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I don't think I officially rsvp'd for a shirt yet. I'm in.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My favorite one so far is the branch with the red, orange and yellow leaves (Maple?) hanging from it. It's simple, yet says it all. SHows the changing seasons of the NE and matches the text, which is some phrase about the best place to hang on DG. I have no experience with the software so someone would have to design it. Eleanor or Al or anyone else with experience can probably do this easily.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Maples work for me - especially red ones :-) (says the Canuck)

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Late getting here, but seems like such a great idea. I know I'd be buying a few T-shirts. I also like the maple leaves (even if it is partial to the Canuck:>)) but a little monkey hanging in there would be cute too, as it is the wild bunch and a great place to hang.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

ha... Maria, does real age matter??? how about when I feel like I am 90 years old??? I am sure that's way way way way older than you!!!!

my dear friends, I am here to help!!

which color T-shirt? dark green???? purple?? hunter green.... lime green.... goodness gracious... that's another decision...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Doesn't have to be Maple but how many trees actually do have all three colors in Fall? I think a lighter colored shirt might be better to show the red against.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I vote for no monkey. Leaves are fine.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I just came up with this design. My graphics for leaves and branches are not very good or at least what I wanted. I had no good red maple leaves and I cropped the branch as best as I could but it still has a blue background. If you come up with a plan the tee-shirt company probably has millions of good graphics and could give us some ideas to OK. Is it going to be printed on or embroidered? I can change things around on this graphic - add, remove, or move. Eleanor

Grammy, I for one like that lot, thank you

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Looks good to me. We might drop the "It's the" and just leave it at "Best Place to Hang Out"

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Got rid of the blue - took a long time cause of shaky hands on the mouse!!!!!
Eleanor
p.s. I'll get rid of the "it's the"

Next option - that was an easy fix!! Keep the suggestions coming. Eleanor

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I put the pic on different colors to show how it might look. Keep in mind that the background would not be white on the graphic. If I put it directly on the color I would have to do the whole process again and that would make me :-( Eleanor

p.s. It is alright if you do not use my suggestions cause I'm sure other people have better ideas.

This thread has gotten so long that I forgot what I said a few days ago! LOL!!!!

grammyphoeb ~ I love what you can do with graphics!

As far as t-shirts go, I personally LOVE hunter green, because most of the garden dirt wouldn't show up ~ but I'll also go with what the majority rules on t-shirt color.

I also like what someone put forth as a slogan ... something to the effect that if they're 'not outside in the garden, they're inside at the NEG forum' ... or maybe it was 'look for me', or something like that.

I agree with selecting a few folks to head up this idea, and then we can all get down to voting!! If we don't vote soon, we'll have to order sweatshirts!! LOL!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like it Eleanor! I also like the short phrase. I would prefer just 'hang', not 'out', but that's minor. It's a generational thing!! Today people just say 'hang'. You can look at Zazzle for the possible colors. I believe when you customize a shirt, you're still stuck with the standard DG logo with the vine in the upper right corner. If so, we would drop 'davesgarden.com'.

I have an alternative for the bottom line - Hangin in at Davesgarden.com.

I think we need to keep it NE Forum cause that's what we are part of !! What does everyone else think? Back out to the storage shed - I'm tearing it apart and adding shelves. Check back in a little later. Eleanor

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

And I think we ought to mention Davesgarden.com because that is where we are when we are not gardening.

Cat, as I mentioned before, it appears to me that even when you customize a shirt on Zazzle, the DG logo appears at the top right corner. If not, I think Eleanor's earlier one with 'davesgarden.com' underneath would be fine.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I should go and check the Zazzle thing out!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Don't forget pixie had some ideas in the "talkative bunch" thread. I was trying to set up a link to it but I can't get it right so you'll just have to go back there by yourself!! Usually when you have tee-shirts made you don't have to choose a shirt color for the whole group. Each individual can choose the color they want and the shirt style to have the design put on. My church has done tee-shirts many times and that has always been the case. After the design is decided then someone (Victor) can contact Zazzle to see what to do next. Do we need a certain number of orders to have the design printed, what colors, styles, and sizes will they do for us, will they help with the design or is it all up to us.

You could start a separate thread with the ideas and have the NE people and Al vote on their favorite - NE Tee-shirts: help us choose a design Eleanor

p.s. Will our design look good next to the DG logo vine??

davesgarden.com

what
???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I emailed Zazzle and asked if we can eliminate the DG logo on the front entirely. The back would remain the same. We'll see what they say.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Eleanor - a possible variation of your design above. Earlier, someone suggested a single branch with some leaves hanging (ie., leaves just below the branch - appearing to hang - about to fall). It can be three or more leaves of Fall colors - yellow, orange, red, even purplish. We've been sticking with Maple, but who's to say the leaves have to be all the same? We don't have to be botanically correct (BC??). It can be a Maple, a Redbud, an Oak - whatever. That design goes with the 'hang' theme. Just more thoughts.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I really like this design, minus the pumpkin maybe. Just a thought......ive been looking at so many I have leaves instead of spots in front of my eyes!!

Actually, we are a colorful bunch . . .

Very nice - though they can be any leaves, not just Maple.

I like Celeste's Fall photo too - could say 'Northeast - the most colorful Forum'.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Another version with different leaves for Victor.
Love the tree pic, pixie. Did you take that pic? I think it would be nice to have a pic that is from the NE.
