What is the best way to get cuttings off of a purple passion plant? And what is the best season to do so?
Thanks
Purple Passion Plant Cuttings
I've done it two ways; I put the cutting in water and let them root and put them in soil and kept them moist. They do like sun, and will bloom with yellow flowers with an unpleasant oder. That is if you and I are talking about the same plant. Fuzzy and purple.
Cuttings grow well in plain sand as well. Just make sure you keep taking new cuttings because older stems start to deteriorate as the stems age and the vivid purple coloring starts to fade (much the same as we do, I guess). They are easy to root and a beautiful plant is easy to maintain if you keep tucking fresh cuttings into the pot. Also, remove the foul smelling flowers as soon as you see them forming. They take energy from the plant and no one enjoys their presence! (Perhaps they should be called Mother in Law tongues). If I knew how to add one of those smiley faces I see in other people's replys, I'd add one now... I still have a lot to learn about computers - Plants are much easier!
