DAILY PICS- VOL.18

ROTFLMBO!!!!! That pic ( Cool Water-along w/ your comment) is hysterical !!

Thanks for giving me a good laugh Frank.

Very nice pics!

Great photos! I wonder if we entertain them, too?

The birds don't seem to like me much. They always fly away.

I don't know if you saw my post just above your pic in this thread called "The Cardinal still looks bad" but it really does work if you have the time and patience. If the weather is awfully hot then its not fun for anyone,

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Frank: I love the 4 singing sparrows! Great shot. Our sparrows haven't returned yet.
This is not the clearest pic, but that darn auto-focus gets so easily confused by little tree branches! I wanted to post it anyway. There's a family of Red Bellies and the past week or so the "mom" comes to the feeders and then takes food to the kids. That's what she is doing in this pic. There are 3 chicks that I've seen and they all cheep constantly while mom is getting the food. Fun to watch.

You are blessed. I have only had one woodpecker all year. A red headed one. He only came to the yard to get crackers. I have not seen him for a month. He never went near the suet.

I put up a greener branch this morning and was able to catch a cardinal in it.

Oh deb, you are so lucky to see the little ones all the time!! Mine are in other neighbors trees so I can't see them because of other trees in the way.

Great pic Frank!!

There were not many birds this afternoon. The ones that did come to feed stayed a short time. They seemed to be constantly watching the sky. I guess there must have been hawks close by.

Yes that House Sparrow might be looking for Hawks.

A Sharp shinned Hawk came into my yard this morning flew low across the yard onto the arbor, the birds made a mad dash out and even my own parrot screamed.

Just wanted to show you that this "little thing" is getting around ok. Since I'm on probation re bird IDs, would someone kindly post the one for this?

He is really a beauty adel!

I don't think I have ever seen grackles flock together in August around here. Today I did. Nothing like the thousands that we see in the winter. There were a little over a hundred in this flock. They swept in ate what they could find and swept out. They move fast but I got some shots. Here is one.

Every year at about this time, the white pelicans come through the area. This picture is a couple years old though. I don't know if they stopped this year with all the high water (and we don't have our boat operating this year). Still, it's quite the site!

Here is a photo of a Bald Eagle next to its nest that we saw off shore in the Choctawhatchee Bay in the Florida Panhandle this summer.

Florida has always had a population, they came through the pesticide-related decline of the 1960s-1970s

Welcome parrotma! Very nice shot!

Mrs Ed- That must be quite a sight!

Nice pics Frank.

I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind - so many outstanding photos here!

Frank, I keep laughing over the sparrows singing "Cool Water!!!" Absolutely terrific!

And, Parrotma, that is one awesome photo - the eagle itself, the nest, and the contrasting branches and background . . . WOW!

It wanted berries, but wouldn't land where they were. It tried to hover. Maybe he's learned about briars in the past.

I watched it go for berries several times, and while the feet might touch down, it was very brief.
