Dying junipers

Weymouth, MA

My pacific blue junipers, planting in the spring, are all dying...some dead. Planted in heavy clay with a big of top soil. They did fine March through July. They succumbed in August. Is the the drought (I water weekly or bi-weekly)? Is the heavy clay? Is the oppressive heat of this August (over 100 for the last 13 of 15 days...mid to upper 90s for the past month...no real end in the forecast)? Of is it something I did. Other plants, such as burford hollies, sky pencil hollies, burning bushes, and skyrocket junipers (same conditions, same planting time) look fine, albeit hot. Others (arborvitae) are suffering, but don't appear to have succumbed.
