Here's the info on Queenaire
Queenaire (1281) 07/15/1962 (Monroe) Double dark blue-violet. Round, quilted, scalloped. Standard
No Queenaire in FC.
After a while I know one can get cross-eyed. I can't edit anymore today so I will wait and add all the huge progress tomorrow. WoW!
Thanks, Joan. Like I said sometimes I get cross-eyed. Glad you found Queenaire.
I'm thinking that you are almost 3/4 of the way done!
I know, it is awesome and amazing!
Thank you Joan.Q's are finished with descriptions.3/4 of the way done!!!
WooHoo What a team we have here!
You can say that again, Jan, and you are a major player on the team.
Joan is the real hot shot..................she had already filled in the hybridizers and dates when I hit the p's.............how easy that was to complete descriptions................thank you Joan and mystic..........you must have not gone to bed last night................as Snow and Rain didn't either............just not bragging on themselves...............
LOL We've been sleeping when you all sleep and here with you almost 24/7. I'm so glad that you all are helping out like this. It's great!
Hey Jan...I forgot about you mentioning the V's and I have good news for you. They are done! I did them both descriptions and details. So, that should help you some. Maybe I should have left it for a surprise ;-) I hope you are glad.
Lots of praise and thanks for you , gessiegail.
Joan and mystic...as always. Much appreciated.
Great news Snowrose. Was a good surpise to see them done!
Looks like theres enough people people filling in the details? Or do you need help doing that?
Jan, I will need help with the A's and B's (430, I think) ...the descriptions are done but the details will be a long slow process. Maybe between us, we can divvy up some of these or else it will take me forever or so it will seem ;-)
Thanks a million for the offer!
Sure I'd love to help you..Sending you d-mail.
I just finished the 'H' AV. I can't do anything more today but can work on Sunday after church.
LMK, Linda
Wow...thanks RDT!
Wow, major progress here while I was up in Pittsburgh! :-)
CJ, I'll handle the C's entirely (although what with one thing and another, the major part of that effort might have to wait until after the DG gathering here on Sept. 8). Let me know what letter you want to do next, and I'll copy & paste descriptions... That shouldn't take but an hour or two, I'm hoping, so even if things get hectic I should be able to work it in a few at a time.
What do you want me to do next?
Linda
RDT - Would you be interested in the details on the letter I ?
Y'all are FANTASTIC! I am amazed at how quickly you have made all the corrections!
GREAT TEAMWORK! You all desserve huge applause and many Thanks from all of us who use Plant Files. I am a novice and would never know when checking out a plant in PF that the info there was incorrect, so it's nice to know that we have folks here like you all who care so much about accuracy and correct information.
Thanks so much for the great effort you've put forth that will be an asset to all of us!
You are a Teriffic bunch of Flowers in this Garden!
Lin
I am working on "I" now.
Linda
I'm about 1/3 of the way through the C's, both descriptions and details... I'll get to the rest when I can... not promising to stay up until the wee hours, LOL, but I'll get 'er done eventually. :-)
I just finished the I's.
I can do another one tomorrow. Just let me know.
Linda
Plantladylin - Such kind words and encouragement. Much appreciated.
Critter - !/3 already done on the C's is great news :0)
RDT - Thank you for finishing the I's so quickly! How about details on the E's ?
E's are complete. Next?
linda
RDT - You are a wonder. Thank you. The details on the letter 'O' still need to be done. Would you feel like tackling that? There are quite a few entries.
Snow, I was going to do the O's, but if you'd rather RDT do them. and have Gail and me start on the list of the ones that don't have a description, that is fine. Just let me know. :o)
Rain, I just looked at the list above and if I am seeing it right, it appears all the decriptions are done. I can't believe it. I'll go back and double check. Doesn't seem possible. It's true! All the descriptions are done except for the plants not found in FC2 that are on our own lists to try and find some info on them from a reliable source.
How about this for an idea. Maybe split the details on the O's so it's not so much for anyone. Gessiegail could do the 'Size' and 'Propagation' on all the O's and you and RDT could split the number of entries (140) for flower and leaf details giving each of you 70 to do which is a heck of a lot. What do you think?
let me know where to start. I am free today. Wednesday is full but I can get a few done.
Linda
Morning everyone.Details are finished on the A's.Except for the ones we cant find.
That works fine for me, Snow. How about I start with Optimara Little Cheyenne and do the last half of the list, and RDT can do the first half of the list, through Optimara Little Azurite. Is that acceptable with everyone? :o)
Yay on the descriptions being entered on all sections!!! The individual ones without descriptions were what I was talking about Gail and me working on, but we'll catch those after the O's. :o)
I've got three so far that didn't have descriptions in my (slightly outdated) FC... If anyone has seen registered or vendor descriptions of these, please let me know.
Celery -- Bluebird's description indicates the hybridizer is Dates, but doesn't have any more good information on it. Anyone?
Chic Lilac -- found nothing at all on this one. Does it exist?
ChantaSpring -- several vendors indicated that the hybridizer is unknown. Rainbow Violets calls it a micromini, others say mini, so if anyone has it please let me know which you think it might be (or I'll just check off both options). It sounds like we could probably go with this descriptions from Lyndon Lyon's site: "Single yellow bell shaped little flowers bloom in clusters above medium green pointed foliage."
Thanks!
I have ChantaSpring...............mini trailer ..............bought from Lyndon Lyons............
So, would you describe it as a miniature or do you view it as a micro-miniature? I could put both in the details, but I don't want to be misleading... I can also just mention that Rainbow Violets calls it a micro-mini when I add a note with the description from LL.
Jannich - Wonderful! I will mark them done with pleasure :0)
Raingazer - Glad you are in agreement and your plan sounds perfect. I second the Yay!
Critter - This is what Violet Gallery says on Chanta Spring listed under miniature trailers.
CHANTA SPRING - Little bell shaped yellow blossoms over tiny green foliage.
The description for Lyon's sounds very good also.
This is what Bluebird Greenhouse says about 'Celery' listed under standards.
CELERY (Dates)
This violet looks like the vegetable. Better not grow it in the kitchen or it may end up in the turkey dressing as it can easily be mistaken for its' namesake.
My note: The leaves are bustled.

Great! I was waiting to hear back from you or RDT about it. I'll get started on them in about 30 minutes, then I'll have about an hour to work. After that, it might be in the morning before I can come back and get the last of them, but rest assured, I'll do just what I've promised! :o)
Thanks! I found that description for 'Celery' on Bluebird's site, but I didn't think it was very, well, descriptive. To me, that plant looks nothing like the vegetable, celery. I'm hoping somebody has that one and will post a note about it and/or fill in a few of the details. From Plantcrazii's photos, it does look like it has wasp (compound) foliage... but is it a trailer?
Violet Gallery is the only site that seems to list it as two words, "Chanta Spring" rather than as "Chantaspring" or "ChantaSpring." Since the single word spelling is what's in PF, I think I'll go with that. The descriptions do seem to pretty well agree other than the one mention of it being a micro-mini. Sounds like we could officially list the hybridizer as (unknown).
I will start with the first half of the list, through Optimara Little Azurite.
Do you want me to keep tabs on the ones that do not have descriptions and I cannot find it on the NET? I had some on the last 3 letters that I did.
Linda
Jill, perhaps use "Chanta Spring" as the synonym??
linda
Linda, that's a good idea, especially since we can't confirm a registered name for it. Thanks!
