Right. The whole point about having a new thread for the bloom color discussion that arose is to get lots of input from lots of people.
I think it wasn't a bad thing for me to start this new thread because adding 119 replies to the previous thread that Snow started might have gotten confusing. Similarly, I don't think it would be a bad thing for me to start a new thread as Joan asked (or pair of threads, so we can separate official organizational stuff from Q&A and chat) for further organizing the effort now that we're about at a starting point. I'm willing to help with organization, and I'm also perfectly willing for Snowrose to start the new threads to get the effort underway. I'm certainly not trying to step on anybody's toes. :-)

Good morning everyone. While the chatting and discussing is going on, I decided last night to get to work and start on the 430 files in the 'A's and 'B's. I have started by copying and pasting the official AVML description in the 'add a note' section of the PF. That way, no matter whatever else happens, that will be there. When I go through these files a second time, the description will be readily available in the cultivar file and useful to help correct any user errors there may be.
Errors such a the pH will be wiped out by administartion across the board so I am ignoring that for now. Also the blossom color checklist I am ignoring for now until the forum reaches a consensus.
I have been trying to catch up with the threads on DG this morning, in between my "real" work of data entry... I've been reading about all the work you all are doing for the PF.
May I just take the time to say "Thank you!"... to each of you that has become involved in this project, for working so hard to update these files for the AVs. I personally, know so little about the AVs... watching you all so diligently toil over each and every file... and up so late too... I know they will offer so much wonderful information to anyone who visits DG!

Dave has graciously fixed the pH for us...again... thanks to me giving him the wrong information the first time. :)
Something else to watch for as you work your way through the database is duplicate entries. One was just found, and there could be more. If you find any, please be sure to report those also.

We will get these files in good shape. Just will take a little time. But, with our best efforts, it will get done. My concentration right now is to get the official descriptions copied and pasted in the cultivar files. Very easy but time consuming. I want to thank you also for the contributions you make on the forum. I have enjoyed your posts, photos, and growing advice or questions so much.

Everyone can do their part, Susan. I know you grow some lovely plants. Take pictures and add them to the PlantFiles! We need good pictures to go with the entries. :o) Perhaps a clear close-up of a bloom and also a picture of the whole plant. That is what will really make it complete. :o)

Snowrose, you're amazing! I think you've got a good idea about going through twice, once to get the descriptions in and then again to add, verify, and report errors in the checklists.
