Ok, I've gotten 3 blooms but the first, a really pretty pink speckled one got away from me. So I didn't get a picture but I'm watching closer now. So here is one from yesterday on one of the vines.

It was still a little sleepy when he took this, so I don't know if the folding remained or unfurled later. Unfortunately I had to go to work and didn't get home till just a little while ago. I'll definitely be out there earlier in the morning. I just want to say Thank You so much!! I've seen the striped ones like this for months now on this list and just wanted one soooo much I got so excited this morning that the bf thought something was wrong. It was gorgeous and they continue to be sooo beautiful Thank you!!!.

Arlene - I love this one: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3933021

All of them are just beautiful everyone! Karen thanks for sharing such wonderful MGs with all of us!

I have a feeling that all 3 vines of mine will be purple color. I don't see any pink on the buds on the other vine that hasn't bloomed yet. But I could be totally wrong! LOL!

Karen - Do the vines stay true in color. No switching from purple to pink on individual vines?

I'd love to trade someone for a few of the pink Blizzard seeds if you would like some of my solid purple and blizzard purple ones! Both colors are just gorgeous! So I would love some of the pink as well. :-)

beautiful flowers, wow.

mine need a few days too. There are buds on all five, some smaller than others, just waiting here.

Karen, ditto what everyone else has said, thank you for sharing these. Are the seeds that you sent us from one certain individual seedpod, or mixed from several seedpods? I was wondering if each seed in one pod could have several different colors, I guess they could.

Hi, I`m very happy to see everyone enjoying the grow out! These do not change from pink to purple on the same vine but you may observe gradual changes in lightness and in markings increasing such as more blizzard markings increasing to almost a pale lavender with a circle of purple around the throat.

I`m wondering if any with a colored throat will surface?

Everyone feel free to breed, name them cute names and exchange the seeds amongst yourselves. You might as well send me some too especially from the coolest ones. :)

These were more than 20 hand tied pods that were broken open stirred and randomly selected in little envelopes at 5 seeds each. More than 100 seeds are out there either growing or sitting in seed drawers waiting for next spring.

I`m short for time since homeschool is underway. Here is a interesting one from this morning lighter than the others and this one has a lightening of the folds and a interesting blizzard pattern beginning to show some white stripes.

There were no new blooms this morning, but.....lots and lots of buds. So I will have to get up a little early in the morning for picture taking. I'll put them online when I get home tomorrow evening.

I had 3 different colors today. : ) Excuse the hand in one of them, the wind was blowing and I had to hold it. One pink, one blizzard, and one purple.

I also have 1 vine that has tried to open 2 blooms, but both have failed to open.

Hi Lucy, Beautiful! So you have a solid pink and a solid purple? Tag the pink one and check later to see if it stays solid.

The partially opened blooms are very likely caused by heat especially above 90. I have seen this phenomenon when it was hot and also when it was cool at night. It is almost like the heat melts them closed and they cannot open or in the cold it freezes them shut being opposite extremes with similar affects on the blooms.

This morning I had another solid pink, and another solid purple. The wind is blowing again today, so no pictures. I'll try to get out earlier in the morning, before the breezes pick up.

I'm not complaining about the breezes, tho. Better than hot and muggy. : )

Yes, agreed. It is frustrating trying to get a picture with the petals flapping around not to mention they get torn and aren`t very pretty like that. I hope you can get some perfect, still and somewhat overcast days to get good pictures. It is funny how the rain clouds that can mess the flowers up can also filter the light and make the pictues look nice.

Here is a picture from this morning. This one has the lightening in the folds.

This is it for now. :)
