Postage upfront next time

Bolivar, TN(Zone 7a)

Once again I have been "stiffed" on postage from FREE plants that I sent off several months ago to different people on DGs. I have gotten d-mails that say 'I didn't send the postage to you?" to "what is your address" over and over again. If it is a SASE I don't mind, but when it gets up in the dollars then I have real heartburn with people not doing what they say they are going to do. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't mind sending off extra plants because I have a lot of them and they can get overwhelming, but I do mind people not keeping their word. That really ticks me off. LIZ

I've had this problem before and I only do postage up front now. Thankfully there's paypal. It is interesting though that when I offer something for postage now and mention that I require postage up front, I don't get that many offers, lol. If you don't know this, there is trade feedback here at DG. I would definitely leave appropriate feed back for the person who stiffed you, just to atleast warn others.

I've had similar problems. It makes me very cautious on doing any trades/freebies (I usually ignore any requests nowadays). Some have been generous (more than what I asked for) while others barely cover the cost of postage. Some are very slow in coming in (why should I have to remind them of what we discussed?).

The worst one I ever had was someone who never responded after I sent the plants (talk about gratitude).

The only ones I would deal with anymore are the ones I've had good results from in the past or if there is something I really want but I usually prefer to just buy it so I won't feel cheated.

I haven't traded a lot but I've had very good experiences so far.
I'm sorry that you've had DG members let you down.

I'm still waiting for the self-addressed envelope from someone who wanted seeds.......this was weeks ago.
