Brown Tips?

El Paso, TX(Zone 8a)

Does anyone know why my Liriope "Silver Dragon" might be browning at the tips? Thanks!

It appears to be scorch from excessive hest.
Prune it off and keep it well watered.

Thanks Paul. That's what I'll do. I keep it in the shade, but we're in the desert so maybe it's still getting a little too hot.

Lack of humidity can do that too, houseplants often have that problem during the winter because of the dry air, and if you live in a desert-like climate maybe that's a problem outdoors as well. You could try misting them occasionally and see if that helps. (The brown tips that are already there won't go away, so the way you'll know if it's working or not is to watch whether the new growth gets brown tips or not)

Common problem can often be magnessium deficiency. Some think it is lack of water or sun, but usually it is missing some nutrition that is needed. Magnenessium is a common culprit found in short-supply in much of our soil. Dynamite All Purpose Plant Food 18-6-8 is something I swear by and is reccomended by a ton of master gardeners. It has a good amount of mag in it and lasts for a while.

Is the plant in garden soil or compost, as I think like Ecrane and would go for the lack of moisture in the air, so misting wont harm the plant IF it has enough moisture , dont forget to mist under the foliage also as they leaves have pores on them just like we do, I would also add a feed if the plant is still growing and not trying to go dormant for winter season, not too much as the plant is in a small pot, Good luck anyway, hope it picks up again. The plan is in potting soil (Fertilome). I just used a general fertilizer, but, it's been looking better since I misted it. Was thinking about bring it in for the winter, though. It's just starting to get cold here, so I'll probably need to decide on that soon. :)
