Worm coming abundantly. I.D. please?

These worms are making an unwanted appearance. They are feeding on weeds and flowers.
Probably they are common-we had even more a few years ago. They were everywhere.
Does someone have a name?

Ooops, sorry Farizona, it's a White-lined Sphinx Moth, very pretty:

He is in the larvae stage, will soon spin a cocoon and then some time later, emerge as a moth.

oh lovely...we dont see the sphinx moths here but as i recall they look like hummingbirds in the early evening hours visiting the blooms.
